Those gwagenbabe pics caused quite a shit storm.

I remember Nadim starting his Toy swap and getting verbally abused. Now there are a ton of us rocking Kieth's kit. Or if someone wanted a tire other than 235/85 they were trashed. Now 35s are boring. It's fun to read some of the old threads and see how much the "rules" have changed. Still the best site for Rover info out there.

Shit... I paid $18k for a truck I could get for $2k now. That's just f-ing depressing!

Well I paid 14 and put 28 into mine. I'm guilty of making quite a few rookie comments back in 2001 when I first started posting. It all changed when I actually tried the two hammer technique on my tie rod.

Don't get me started on what I've put into it. I may pop a cap in my own ass.

I think the first thread I started was asking how to change my serp belt!

2003 was the last year for non-Rovers at MAR.
I think I've got a pic of Gwagen babe with Vince/Vance maybe...??

So, was it early Spring, 2004, when DWeb came back, and none of us have earlier sign on dates than that? I know I've been here longer than 2004. I bought my Series (the first time) in 1998 or 1999, my '94 Disco in 2000, and I first lurked right after that.

I have been lurking since mid to late '01 which led me to buy my '99 DII. Though I don't post too much, this site has gotten me through so many boring ass days and some of my past/present jobs. I find myself getting pissed when it goes down. Been a great cast of characters over the past 10 years as well.

Happy birthday Dweb!

I joined right after I got my DI back in March or April of 04 I think. But forgot my password when it went down for a bit and had to create a new account in August 04.

Thanks Dweb for filling my workday with much more interesting things than invoicing and creating change orders to nickel and dime our customers. It makes the day go by much quicker sharing it with my cyber buddies.

I remember discoweb was founded by the gang of 4. I remember buying parts from british bulldog spares, nathan crabtree and some guy named Mohammad in New york with a black website that had all green text. I bought the AB skid plate kit cause they advertised that "it's the first thing a serious offroader should do". Then I bought rockware drop kits with rancho's when they were all the rage. Such a rookie.

I remember my first disco, my first rangie, my second rangie, my 2nd disco, my 3rd rangie and my 3rd disco ( only one out of 3 rangie was drivable) I lived in 6 different houses and two states. I've been broke at least twice. I've made lifelong friends and seen others end. I've seen the world from most ends and been robbed twice when I wasn't looking. I've picked up two hitchhikers, and found one Indian passed out on the highway.I got some grays and some back aches, but till have the spirit for adventure, I hope that never goes.

I still log onto discoweb every morning and see who ripped who a new asshole and praying that someone post pictures of something poorly built, so I know there is something to look forward to at lunch time. Worst case I can always post some tech.

I know of one rangie that was driveable... barely...

Anybody bought parts from Alpha Parts Exchange?

And one of the funnier things I remembered was Ho recommending buying wheels from Chas at RoverAccessories. Wheels were good and served me well for many years.

What a great story that was. I still love telling people that one. Yep there were some good old days of thinking cones and sexy flexy was the coolest thing in the world. Then I actually figured out how to drive these trucks and what they like to do. I still love giving people shit about cones.

I also remember a rookie comment I made in an argument with Peter about re-using pinion bearings. Since then I've re-used a bunch. LOL
