Every ticket I got in college, I plead not guilty. Before court you will have a pre-trial hearing with the county prosecutor and in there you can try to get him to release it (which is what happened to me twice) or you can try to bargain with him for a reduced fine "but, but, but, I am a poor white trash college student..." or he will give you the option to take it to court or just shut up and pay the fine.

The first advantage it that it delays the entire process. If you get off, then awesome, if you decide to just shut up and pay the fine, it is the exact same fine you would have paid anyway just a month or so later than it normally would have been due.

When you drag it out like that it reduces their profit margin and they would rather just be done with you.

Just like in your business, PT. If a customer calls you up, and you say, WTF do you want, you're not going to be in business for long. If you can't deal with customers professionally, then it's time to go be a professional fisherman:)

If you only knew!

Last week, I got a call from a person whom I thought was a brain rapist par excellence. It turned out to be a guy who wanted a BECM swap done! LOL, being nice might result in a $2K invoice from a new client who understood the issues.

Keep in mind that I'm working this job after leaving one I learned ot hate after 19 years.

Brain rapist. LOL. Heard that one different in Full Metal Jacket.

Don't know what you did before Rovers, but you're lucky to work in a field you like. We'll always have customers that are better than others, but atleast you're doing something you like. Hopefully you don't learn to hate Land Rovers after 19 more years.

I was an environemntal, health & Safety engineer. think industrial safety cop.

I did one fatal accident investigation. Even though the bodies had been removed before I got involved, it was a life-changing experience. I don't know if i could do your job.

my "WTFWJD" license plate has got me out of a ticket...twice. the cops here in Colorado love it but apparently the dispatchers don't. She was offended and threatened to "report" it.

1-when you are approached dont apologise, instead fess up quickly that what you did was wrong. Cops like power, and admission of ur guilt promptly, may have saved them having to send ya to court much of the time, say sir/officer, not "man", and try not to make eye contact with the trooper unless asked to.

2-depending on time of the month and whether he is getting laid enough or not, he will hit you with a ticket or warn ya

3-if you get the ticket, show up in plain clothes, no suits , and plea with the prosecutor, here your record is the key, no priors should be advertised, years without a ticket should be brought up.

My friend was always in trouble with the law and told me a trick: he always carried a box of pampers and a wedding band in his car, and when pulled over he swore he was sent to get diapers

it worked more often than u'd think

You know, most patrol officers, rarely pull people over. They are busy going call to call, and they are tied to the radio doing 9-1-1 calls. The motorcycle and dedicated traffic guys, they are dealing with the people that have committed a civil infraction.

So, as a rule, motorcycle cops work traffic / moving violations and the cars answer calls?

I work in downstown Seattle and am amazed at the stupid things drivers do right in front of police cars (like blocking intersections). I've always wondered why the car cops NEVER seem to do anything about it.

OTOH, I have seen bike cops pull over, park, and follow pedestrians in to office buildings at 6:00 in the morning to write them a jaywalking ticket.

I was cited just yesterday for my tags being out of date. Sometimes, they will get you, other times, they won't.

You earned a ticket. It is at the officer's discretion whether or not to give you one. If he does, so be it.

I don't know about the tags, though. I expect he had to do something about it. He asked me if I knew they were out, and I told him that I didn't know, but I had reason to believe that they were out. I told him that I honestly hadn't thought much about it.

I have a hard time remembering those darned things. Whoever mails out the notices never gets them to me. Since I have been in NC, I haven't got one notice in the mail about it. No worries, though. I have an entire force of police officers to remind me when I need to get them.

I'll go down to the DMV tomorrow and sort it all out.

I am not overly concerned about it. After I visit the DMV, I'll head to the DA and speak with him, and find out what they want. I'll probably have to pay a few dollars. It doesn't really bother me. I broke a pretty simple law. I didn't mean to, but that doesn't matter. It isn't like they are going to throw me in jail over it.

I look at tickets the same way. I broke the law, and, I was caught. If he gives me a ticket, that is fair. I've only ever got one ticket, and when I went to court as I was supposed to, they all but threw it out. And that was after I told them that I was indeed guilty of the offense.

Cheers,

Kennith

Well, I deserved the ticket and after cooling off a little, I don't mind it as much (still don't like it). I just wanted to see if anyone had any ideas on how to get out of it. (If not, that's OK too.)

I've earned every ticket I've gotten. I consider it my 'go fast' tax for all of the times I sped and didn't get caught.

The last time I was pulled over it was for 74 in a 55.

I was respectful and got a warning. I counted my stars and slowed down.

those are the worst ways to get out of a ticket i've ever heard. I know of a fews ways and so far nobody has posted them. I like to think I write a fair number of tickets, most of the time I know when I make the stop i'm going to issue a summons, but sometimes the person just says the right thing. I think i'm pretty good at figuring out the BS excuses. Like the diaper thing. I usually respond with " does the fact that you had to ________ change the fact that your speed could have caused an accident injuring you or others"

So.... Anyone care to share a few tips for getting out of a speeding ticket?

You should have asked... Any lawyers On Here! It usually turns out badly but it is more entertaining.

Search badyfish for some REAL advice that no one else knows.

Ohh. Big tits do help if the officer is good looking. It takes some of the sting out of the ticket and you will get to see her again if you go to court.

When I was in the Air Force many years ago, showing my military ID usually got me out of the ticket, but not all the time. One piece of advice, never ask the cop if his speed gun has been calibrated recently, that got me a ticket right away. A few years ago, I was doing 85 in 55 passing a guy, and a trooper came over the hill coming the other way. He pulls me over, comes over to the car and asks for my ID and reg. I gave it to him. Gives it back to me and says "lucky for you, I filled my quota for the day, and I'm not going to write you a ticket, but just out of curiostiy, how fast were you going." I said sheepishly "85". He said, "wow, maybe I should write you a ticket, I had you going 74", "have a nice day, and slow it down a little."

Most of the contact the public has with police is because of traffic violations. Motor guys are out and about looking for those violations. They stop you, you're gonna get a ticket .

When you see a cop sit and watch someone blaze through a red light, he's probably patrol, and he's probably going to a call (or meeting his buddy for Dunkin Donuts coffee). He usually doesn't have time to stop a violator, unless its a very bad violation.

Having a great rack is always cool, but won't get you out of the ticket. I write A- and DD- cups equally. I usually decide before I pull them over if I'm gonna write them. A WTF is a guarantee though. :)
