I have a 95 D1 with a 200tdi and a 5 speed. I pulled the working transfer case from my automatic and put it on the 5 speed. Now it's stuck in neutral. Any thoughts?

Put in 1st gear and let the clutch out a little, that may let you switch it.

I don't believe a 1995 5 speed 200 Lt230 would have a NSS

The engine and trans are on the shop floor right now. I'm in the process of doing a diesel conversion. My first Land Rover project.

It's just a preference. The 200's water pump is mounted lower if 300 is run a little low on coolant it' runs hot a little easier. My truck had the ZF in it. I have it a good 3.9 and all the accessories if anyone needs them. I would have used a 300 but I found a good 200 first.

True, but you have to remove the waterpump to do a timing belt on a 200 which is sort of annoying, and I'm not a huge V belt fan. Either way, if you have any questions feel free to PM me, I finished my 300 swap earlier this year. This will be pretty useful to you when you don't know why your truck won't start after the conversion ---

I'm confused.

The 300s fire almost immediately once you get all the air purged.

It's really satisfying to walk up to a truck that hasn't run for months, turn the key and listen to it fire up.

They only fire when they're getting a signal. Turning the key wasn't doing anything. The auto looks for signals from a couple different things before starting.

It's also just a simple mistake that was rectified by looking at some diagrams for a bit. Not everyone has worked on vehicles for longer than people like me have been alive.

It took me around 25-30 solid days of work spread out over more than half a year to get the conversion done for my first engine swap. How's that rockware truck coming along? :)
