What I cannot stand about facebook is the post from someone saying how much they love their spouse or thanking their spouse for something they just did, like making dinner. Shut the fuck up, I don't care.
Im convinced the people who like facebook the most are those who are a little reserved in person and want to brag about themselves.
The issue I have with twitter is that you have to open an app, and scroll through just to get caught back up and I don't find myself doing that frequently. Instead I find myself going through two weeks of tweets in 15 mins, 90% of them are news articles and I've already read the story elsewhere.
Nothing will replace reading the wall street journal in the morning and hanging out with your friends at night.
you can't use twitter.com it's just too messy. I use hootsuite which is a great social media aggregator. i can read what i want, organize everything including my tweets and facebook posts, and keep searches live if there is breaking news. i have found out about more natural disasters and breaking news from twitter than i have from traditional news sources.
when we had that east coast "earthquake" a few weeks back i knew within a minute that it was an earthquake and not the nuclear power plant nearby. i don't want to sit around for tomorrows newspaper for news like that.
