LOL-as an old Deadhead, I find this thread amusing.
But, be careful, things can get out of hand quickly your first time with mixing tranquilizers and alcohol.
Respiratory depression is nothing to laugh at.

Definitely true if your tolerance is not built up to these you can get yourself in trouble quick.
I think my flying day are over. On the way to San Diego four doses of 5mg valium and a drink to wash each down over the course of two flights over 6+ hours was ineffective. My wife took me to a doctor in San Diego and he gave me a prescription for 1mg xanax tabs. I took one of those before each flight (no drinks) and was no better. In fact my panic attack on the second flight was worse yet, add to that symptoms from the flu I caught were peaking. Not a good experience. Personally, I'm fine with not flying, I just feel bad for my wife who wants to visit places like Hawaii and Italy.
I did notice that after the first xanax I had a long bout with shortness of breath that is unusual for me.ptshram said:

Has anyone suggested longer term Zoloft? It worked for my son who could not stand to get on any form of public trans, buses, trains, etc.
Hawaii and Italy would be a long swim if you want to tag along. You may want to try something less powerful for everyday. Ask your doc about Vistaril (sp). It's similar to benedryl only more effective.
