Finished putting the engine back together. Now on to the gauges before starting her up.

Nice - creative use of the two trucks!

I've not been that ambitious lately. I did, however, find the spare fan switch for the AC to I might replace that this weekend to get the fan working on the highest setting again...

Finished installing VDO temp & oil pressure gauges.
Primed the oil pump & dropped in the distributor.
Triple checked everything.
Found a can of beer hiding in the fridge.
Turned the key & she fired straight up.
20 minutes later…. opened the beer with a smile.

This was only my second time doing a top end rebuild & those 20 minutes feels like forever. Once all the crude burned off & there were no leaks, I relaxed a bit. Temp stayed around 190 on the gauge & on the IR thermometer. Pressure started high… close to 60… then settled at 30. Hope to find time this week to bleed the coolant & set the timing.

Next up… brakes, windshield, & minor rust repair.

New brakes all around…. calipers, pads, rotors, SS extended lines, and all new piping. Plus repacked bearings.
Farmed this project out. I've done it before but I like the feeling of a pro doing this work.

And she got her inspection sticker too!
