I have the parts coming from Will Tillery. Thought I would get a head start and read up on the procedure.

Have found a complete beginning to end procedure yet......Looked through the RAVE,...I've found bits and pieces,....

Can anyone direct me to a COMPLETE procedure from beginning to end?

the RAVE gives you the complete bolt by bolt process.
follow the steps youll be fine. at least it was for me.
send the heads to the machine shop, put ARP studs, and no more head gasket problems.

Best,

The most important thing you will need to know is the tourque sequence. If you got the kit from Will it should be in the set. The only thing missing will be the O-Ring for the coolant pipe into the manifold so be sure and don't lose it.

As far as Rave goes... all of the info is there just not always in the right order on reassembly. In particular be sure and put the rocker arms on before you install the rocker covers.

Just started this project yesterday. Took the advice of many veterans on this forum. Bought the DVD $15 worth every penny. Researched the RAVE before I started. Pretty good to have it handy when your are in the garage had mine on the work bench. Tugela sent me a word doc with info he collected on other peoples experiences, timesaving tips in it as well. If you are mechanically inclined the video and RAVE should get you through almost step by step. You will need a good partner, somethings just require another set of hands. It took us 6 hrs to complete the tear down. That was taking our time. Take pictures, study what you are about to do, make sure it makes logically sense, stay organized and don't rush the job.

Yeah and the connector on the harness that plugs into the crank position sensor - make sure before you install the heads, intake manifold and plenum that it's hanging out the left rear side and not laying in the center up on top of the bell housing.

Ask me how I know...
