Reminds me somewhat of ARB. IMHO if you want a bumper to stick out a lot, you may as well weld a big-ass stinger to it like the moon buggies have

I agree that ARB's are way to huge poorly mounted and very heavy; my target customer is the mainstream DII off-roader who still uses the DII as a family wagon.
I also wanted to keep the entire front end mechanicals covered. You have a tank in the upper left corner you can't relocate it on all models. The DI bumper is 4? slimmer in design than the DII but to make it look nice will require installing a DII grill. As for the hardcore rock crawlers that?s not my market and I am not trying to compete. Those who are in the know would choose a blade bumper like RTE or Roversolutions, both IMO are very well made. As for my design I wanted the winch to sit in the dropped part of the front not buried in the bumper. The DII drops in the center and I felt any lower the airflow would be restricted. Also no grill cutting is required for the market popular winches, got to think about resale or lease return. There is still some tweaking I would like to make to the tubing. Also the skid plate slots for air flow to the radiator scoop was not what I designed, the laser mis-interpreted my design and screwed it up. At the time I did not want to waste the plate it cost too dam much in my area almost 250% increase since this time last year. It was to have a cool logo design that was supposed to go there.

I see potential in the craftsmanship but it needs to morph a little to get in the ballpark.. Suck in that nose a few inches and I think you would sell some....

I don't think there is anything wrong with grill cutting. Put the winch in that dead space and take some off the front of the bumper.

I got it tucked in as far as I could and still have a good tray area, ill take a look at some more shaving; At the time the only option i saw to go thinner was to cut the grill... I figured the majority would pass on cutting. Bolt and Go. The intended market is the mainstream not for the hardcore. But it is strong it got accidentally rammed 20mph into a pole and did not rotate, Slight dimple in the skid plate

Thanks for the praise on my skills, I did have help on the cad and the cutting was handled by my friends Laser shop, that?s a wicked tool. 500k and I can have one in my shop to, actually I?m trying to build a optical plasma cutter after I win a plasma on Monster House... Dam those ESAB?s are $$$$.....LOL

I can apreciate the crowd that doesnt want to cut the grille but there are other ways you can get your angle up. Pull in the bottom some and that will shave a few inches right there.
Yeah , looks like you oput some thought and work into it and didnt just slap a hunk of formed 2X3 on the nose with a filler and a winch box...

way to frigging big for my taste, the lower pic looks cool but it also looks like it will fill up with mud.

The DII is way more sleek looking then D1 in my opinion, and I think it needs even more of a integrated look to keep from looking stupid and added on to.

Kyle The pictures might be a bit distorted it has a decent approach and is not much more out there than the stock. The ARB for the DII man they need navagation lights. It does look smaller powder-coated

Also I left the bottom that low to hide the washer bottle, I know on some you can relocate but on the 03's i could not see where to relocatel the washer bottle so to coverr all models I tucked up and back as far as I could I was forced to do that evil compromise to please the Bolt and Go market and save build costs... As for me I'm custom all the way one size does not fit all for my tastes and needs

MM you fall into that hardcore market. I agree but I wanted to offer a better ARB alternative...

The DII was more of a challenge to keep the lines flowing and hide all the mechanicals up front That?s what I was after to keep the lines and appeal to the wives who use this to go Mal shopping

The holes were accidentally cut too low the final one will be a bit different and there is about 2" between the edge and the factory Air Scoop... I did not mud bog it but it looks like wet mud should slide down. Not much mud in my area of Kalifornia

Yeah , the dreaded water bottle.... I would still work on getting that nose back in , yours is sticking out atleast 10" past the grille. For some contrast , mine sticks out less then 10" from the end of the frame rail.. The RTE and $G stick out further then mine as well. Just keep staring at it , you will figure out how to pack it all in there and keep it looking good.
The pics show effort and thought and thats what counts...You may want to play with the bar configuration a little as that drastically changes the apearance of the blade... IE , larger tubing in the bar makes the blade apear thinner and so on.....

Thanks for the advice.. Ill try to get it down to 10" The bar was a done buy the owner he needed it done quick and coated for a Baja Trip... A local Toy Taco shop did it, cut to suit beat to fit paint to hide operation...

After reading that I had to run out to the Disco with a ruler. My bumper is 10" from the end of the frame to the end of the blade (not including the tow points). Its RTE, but it is a custom job, and the winch is mounted in the grille area. FWIW.

Was there a truck bumper in that picture that Alex posted? I never saw a truck bumper in that picture... I only saw a girl in a hat.. You sure that there was a truck bumper in that pic? I just looked again and I still only see a girl in a hat. :D

Yep , and the $G is roughly the same.....

Kyle,

I went out to the shop this morning and measurd the distance from the outer front edge of the bumper to the grill it's 6 3/4"

I thought i had it tightly tucked but it was several months ago when i did it. I tried to post new pictures but the camera is dead. Ill post them later it does look a bit diffrent in Mat Black.

Alright, the Safari Gard is out. I guess that means the Rovertym is the best bet. What do you guys think about this one? I really like the slim build of it. It would be a lot better than the ARB I had before.
