That's pretty decent...$588 prime price?!

Garrett, is this winch synthetic compatible and OEX approved?

.

I had one of these on my '04. It has an internal drum break which are typically not recommended for synth lines. Also they don't seem to like getting dunked. When I got the '04 the winch and motor were locked up. After replacing the motor and disassembly, cleaning and reassembly of the winch it did work pretty well.

The Comeup DV-9/Superwinch EP9 that I posted has a full load external brake. However, there's also a DV-9S that comes with synthetic and has a slightly different drum.

There's also the DV-6S which might be more appropriate for your rig's size and weight.

So, I need an external brake or Garrett won't autograph it.

Check.

I found the heaters don't work that well in Sammies and I needed to warm my hands by putting them in my vagina.
HA.. your correct about the heat situation. A samurai was my first project at 16 so ive always had to tinker with them. although its not much of a samurai anymore.

nobody here cares about your rice box. please troll on. now if you were to put a dom chassis on a rusty rover frame underpowered by an unreliable rover driveline, then maybe we'd be interested.

Those winches are antiques! I'm sure they are still good winches, but yes the synthetic lines are better suited for winches with external brakes - not within the drum itself. But you can certainly get away with using syn line with brakes in the drums. People use that firehose material sleeved over the line on the first 20' of line as protection.

I'd try and a snag an EP9. They are solid winches and have a quality controller and plug. We're switching all our EPs over the Talon's slowly but surely. 30+ trucks now, so it's going to be a while.

I've got a Warn 9.5Ti, and I rather like it. It's self-contained, which limits wiring options, but that's not the end of the world.

I do want to get something lighter, though.
