So that forum was just using vBulletin's built-in RSS feature to pull in some RSS feeds from other sites. In this case, it was just a bunch of Feedburner feeds so there was no money being made. I didn't find them very relevant to the site and it may have even hurt our search ranking so I just deleting the entire thing.

I think Axel did it to protect himself. I don't make a cent off this thing and I don't want to expose myself to liability for it.

I think that's wise . Some people associated with Land Rover should also think about what they say . GM was big on attacking people who said the wrong thing about the product .
Thanks for doing this , let us know what funding becomes needed. as time goes on .

What's wrong with the search? It's part of vbulletin and works pretty much the same on every VB site on the 'net.

FWIW, if you want to search using Google, go to google.com and prefix 'site:discoweb.org' to your search query.

Like this: site:discoweb.org catchers mitt

Some seem to work better than others. It would be nice to search for a specific phrase using the "silly quotation marks" to really narrow the results. I know the Google thing but it's nice to do the same on the board to see it in order of date & poster.

Interesting observation: DiscoWeb traffic over the last few weeks has been higher than it's ever been since I started hosting it ~1 year ago. We're consistently getting 5-7 new users signing up a day and that's legitimate LR owners--I delete the spambots sight-unseen.

Cool. I had thought that the traffic was up, but that was based on how often my bored ass checks in to see if there are new posts.

There's some life in the old girl, yet.

And they're all going to ask about tire size and diff lockers.

Yeah. A few new things exist now than did maybe 4 years ago, though. I'd say it's beneficial to not scare off all the newbs. Not all the new guys are young guys who are going to be cheapfucks and some would probably fit in with most people on here fine. I fully support vetting absolute idiots to keep discoweb the way it always has been.

Its great to see traffic building back up-I definitely think a lot has to do with the website changes.
Would be good to keep building in the LR3/LR4 arena as a logical companion to the Disco 1 & 2 line; there is a whole new realm of cheapfucks that will be buying those looking for why their HDC doesn't work as well as how to fit 33's under them and such.

Quite a few of these old questions need to be asked and answered again.

Not only are new products on the market, people have also lived with the older preferences for long periods of time, and have altered their opinions as a result. More people have tried more things at this point.

Cheers,
