Never know the GW5000 also have a steel casing.

GW1000 the 'frogman" also have the steel casing and the most expensive model G Shock.

The GW is on AMZN Prime @ $305. I have a hard time paying for a watch that costs between $100 and a few thousand. That range is too expensive for a beater but it won't be a watch that I'll love.

That being said, the GW5000 is about as good as it gets for a digital watch.

Anyone ever have any trouble with the Eco-drive?

Never had any trouble with my eco-drive watches or anyone else I've known, but that's a small sample size. If it doesn't get light for too long it'll hibernate and resume later. Maybe one of these watch nerds will chime in on Citizens.

Now THAT it cool, but a: you could probably heat your house with it and do you really want a high voltage power supply on your wrist?

 Not me.

People actually enjoy those things. Steve Wozniak wears one (the round model) almost exclusively. Looks like a tire pressure gauge, though. These have those silly machined cases. I wish the maker would be a bit more creative from a design perspective.

They're a bit silly, but those tubes are the cat's ass for atmosphere. I've been meaning to get one of the cool clock kits people offer on Ebay.

Cheers,

Kennith

And this is what I have.

I know some people have over 100 G shocks and Seiko Diver watch, they are buying g shocks like collecting stamps.

You should see my brother in law's collection.

He probably has 20 GMTs and half a dozen Daytonas with the rest Pateks, Panerais, or IWC.

He finally realized his home safe was no longer big enough so he leaves them in the vault at work.

Haha, I can afford all those only if I buy the motorola 360 smart watch and download all those watch faces.

Heathkit was cool! I always wanted to build one back in the day but I was too young I guess.

Supposedly Timex is "reissuing" the camper watch...It's a nylon/resin/plastic case watch with a quartz movement but it's good looking and cheap and pretty tough if it's like their original one. (Fortis made plastic cases as well back in the day..)

Not a watch nerd, but I bought a Citizen about a year ago as a divorce present to myself. This is the titanium version (figured a tough watch to remind me of the tough divorce:thehand:).

I like it. No problems after a year. The titanium is light as heck; the weight feels like it's made of plastic.

Edit: It was ~$500, got it on sale for ~$350.

They are nice, little watches. Only thing about those is the tiny case (35mm?) and the loud TICK TICK TICK.

The Marathon Navigator is a nice alternative:

BTW, there is another version which is a variant from the original gw5000. Same style but just bigger. On this side of the world we call it "muscle man." Really like it but never bought one as it will never fit me as I am a skinny guy, my wrist is just to small for it.
