you know the more i think about this stupid topic the more i start thinking the race issue. it seems as though its getting to be a whitey telling the black guy what to do, the more the black guys resist the more it pisses off whitey.

the bitch of it, it didnt start this way but its starting to look more and more about race. race always seems to be the easy division with us.

once again who ultimately benefits by turning this into a racial issue?

That's what the "victims" want, NEED, you to believe. Their protest was about a perceived racial issue(I'm not convinced). The objection to the protest was and is for the most part about disrespect. There is also some objection to the players doing it during the game(while they're on the clock). And also some about listening to how bad millionaire athletes have it. And, of course, there will always be a few that will make it about race. But by and large the people that think the protest is disrespectful are colorblind.

brett,

that is my point. it's being elevated to create a racial issue. remember, who did trump know would get pissed off...nascar people. who did trump name in his next day tweet (weeks ago)? nascar. whites.

honestly, why was it absolutely okay and still okay for people to worship football when a good amount, of players, have criminal records? beating women, weapons and drug possessions, rape, murder...

its racial divide under the guise of nationalistic pride. like ive said many times the nfl is populated with mental midgets. if they really wanted to piss trump off they wouldve all stood at the fifty yard line hand in hand, but you and i both know they are for the most part too stupid to see 10 feet down the road. it wouldve been better to piss trump off instead they pissed off a lot of good ol boys.

instead of demanding they do what they told or they gonna get a whippin, how about say 'hey, you make more money in one year than anyone in this stadium. that flag represents the freedom and opportunity that got you out the ghetto/chicken shit farm, sailed thru a 4 year institution that costs your classmates a fucking mortgage payment, and puts food on your table.

when we start telling people they will stand it makes me think of tyrannical society. its a slippery slope. you dont want to stand i could care less. once again, i didnt serve so we could live under a government that has tyrannical authority.

People don't watch ESPN to hear about politics or the personal (non sports) opinions of anchors or writers. When will they get it? Monday Night ratings down big time.

Never. ESPN is an SJW converged organization. Their primary motive is no longer functioning as a corporation generating monetary value for their parent & shareholders.

Washington post (total biased rag, but if anything they over-inflated these stats) tracked police shootings reported in 2016. Almost 1000 people killed by police. Sounds like a huge number, and it is. When you dig down, about 50 of those were "Questionable", Accident, Negligence, or downright Murder. The rest, 900+, were armed and dangerous. Of the 50, 16 were black men, and one was a black girl. It's always a tragedy when someone innocent dies, but this isn't an epidemic, its a statistical error. We have a huge police force and 350 million citizens. This is all bullshit. There are real problems facing our black communities, and it's not the fucking police. Sensationalism created to get clicks is going to destroy this country because most people are too stupid to read between the lines.

Do you actually believe it's not an issue? Statistics aside, it's very much a real issue. Regardless of the origins of the problem, it's absolutely a problem. Racism is real in this country.

That's what happens when your culture worships money over just about everything else :patriot:

I believe the NFL players that are taking a knee can afford to protest on their own dime, own time and in their own public limelight...not on the NFL's. People don't go/watch a football game to be brought up to speed on race issues. This "show" of dissatisfaction with America and its susposed social injustices, by kneeling during the National Anthem, is coming off as disrespectful to our veterans and only drives the wedge deeper between the races.

Like I said it's a tragedy when it happens, but it's not an systematic issue with police force. The way these issues are presented by the media and BLM are only causing more racial divide because people can see these are isolate incidents. Half the time they jump the gun saying the person in question was unarmed or not dangerous in order to incite outrage and then it terns out they were a threat. If a cop kills someone unarmed who wasn't a real threat put them in jail. But if someone unarmed lunges at you, you should be able to use deadly force. Locally a police officer showed up to a domestic. Guy had his hands in his sweatshirt pocket. Police officer asked several times for himo pull his hands out. When he did he had a gun and shot the police officer in the face killing him. Fair lawn NJ... All on video. Police have a tough job.

As for racism, which is a different topic than police potentionally using too much deadly force... It definitely exists. Lots of stupid ideologies exist. Most people have some bias, that's human nature. Not many people are racist. And if they are it's not illegal and it's better to let them make fools of themselves than to shine a big spotlight on them. 5 people should have showed up to the Charlottesville protests to take pictures of the dudes wearing nazi gear and just put their personal info all over the place. What happened instead gave them a bigger platform.

Speaking of Charlottesvile. The guy who was jumped by the racists was caught on film hitting one of them in the head with a club before hand. This is what lead to the attack. It's all on tape and has been available for months, but no one reported it. Even now when there is an arrest warrant for him, they are still making him look like a victim even though he viciously attacked someone first. All these assholes got to go to jail.

So you crunch all the numbers and now want to know if this minuscule number are murders was motivated by racism? What percentage of Americans would you think are full blown racists? Your answer should be interesting.

The problem is not racism run amok in this country, the problem is interpretation of racism. The majority of Americans don't even know the true definition, much less ever met one.
