Washington post (total biased rag, but if anything they over-inflated these stats) tracked police shootings reported in 2016. Almost 1000 people killed by police. Sounds like a huge number, and it is. When you dig down, about 50 of those were "Questionable", Accident, Negligence, or downright Murder. The rest, 900+, were armed and dangerous. Of the 50, 16 were black men, and one was a black girl. It's always a tragedy when someone innocent dies, but this isn't an epidemic, its a statistical error. We have a huge police force and 350 million citizens. This is all bullshit. There are real problems facing our black communities, and it's not the fucking police. Sensationalism created to get clicks is going to destroy this country because most people are too stupid to read between the lines.

Do you actually believe it's not an issue? Statistics aside, it's very much a real issue. Regardless of the origins of the problem, it's absolutely a problem. Racism is real in this country.

You can't just disregard statistics because it doesn't fit with your agenda, Zack. I don't think anybody would say its not an issue, its just not the biggest issue. And to fully resolve a problem one MUST understand the origins of it. Otherwise you're just chasing your tail.

Even when an officer is tried in a court of law and found not guilty, groups like BLM refuse to accept the outcome. They don't want real justice, they want their version of it. The version where thiefs sue the homeowner because they get hurt while committing a crime. The version where mothers cry on TV that their "baby" did nothing wrong as they were selling drugs or waving a gun around. The version where they're consistently told they're a victim and they continue to perpetuate that label.

I never said it's the biggest issue, it's actually pretty small issue statistically. Just that it's real, and that all the snowflakes offended by the kneeling are certainly not helping the situation.

Trump is angry, Pence is angry. People in the streets are protesting for the betterment of this country, Trump is taking us backwards and dividing the country more.

I don't know. Trump seems okay. The white house and airforce 1 could use some more gold but other than that I don't see a lot of anger. The media on the other hand, they are angry. Trump knows exactly what to say to send them over the edge and does it on a constant. It's comical to sit back and watch. What's so sad it that people buy into the fact Trumps going to start WWIII and wants more Nukes blah blah blah. Sometimes you just have to think for yourself. Trump wants to talk football, we talk football. Trump wants to talk transgender in the military we do that. Trump wants to talk Obamacare, taxes and anything else under the sun he's got it covered. Our media is a joke, all of it. Personally I like the football talk. It's a conversation with deeper roots that needs to be had. Not racism or cop killings but pushing for the betterment of ALL American people.

Anyway....

It's been Trumps last week in office every week of every month for the past 10 months.

There is no way the Castile officer should have got off like he did. That verdict tells me that cops have too much leeway.

Im not saying he was "out to get the black man", but that dude wigged the fuck out once he was calmly informed there was a gun in the situation.

I think you're seeing backwards... trump is the one that constantly flies off the handle. Trump cannot take criticism to save his life. That, is hilarious to watch.

Oh damn. Didn't see it that way. We should gather in the streets and chant "fuck the police".

BUT, when you add the adjectives we can't have the real discussion.

"white officer shoots and kills a black man" racist

"officer shoots and kills unarmed man" not racist....maybe sexist!

for fuck's sake in the military we were not allowed to fire unless we were fired upon or under direct order by the highest ranking member. but cops? fire away!!!

like ive said numerous times the real discussion is why do cops get away with (in some cases) murder? doesnt matter if youre black or white, especially when your 4th amendment rights were violated.

yes there is systematic racism in this country, its disgusting.

Humans are not perfect, systems are not perfect, training is not perfect and on and on. I go by the 80/20 rule. If you're successful 80% of the time and unsuccessful 20% you're winning. We, in the human race will not see this increase until machines and computers play a larger role. Does it suck, yes. However, we have the machines and computers now to broadcast bad news to a very large audience like we've never seen before making it seem as if we're not meeting our 80. They need to get the fuck outta here with that shit.

See, I just thought for myself.

Cop shoots 3 people in 3 years. One in the back, fatally.

Police fire said officer (no charges by DA), union files grievance. Arbitrator says PD has to rehire him. It's a fucked up world we live in.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/grap...otings-in-three-years/?utm_term=.c150fdb27f28

Baltimore PD gets caught planting evidence (multiple times). Salt Lake City nurse gets arrested doing her job.

None of those would have seen the light of day, and the people being charged would have had no recourse, except for body cams.

It's all about the narrative; doesn't actually matter if nothing actually gets done or there are no accomplishments-just what we talk about.

A reality TV version of governing so to speak.

So if 20% of people executed were innocent (falsely accused), we're winning?

If 20% of people in traffic stops were shot, we're winning?
