Trump basically threw gasoline on a fire that was going to eventually burn its self out.

Remember he thinks he is the best negotiator and will be bringing these same inflammatory techniques to deal with Korea....

Clearly, the G. W. Bush and Obama negotiation techniques worked so well with North Korea.

Ray, actually a lot of players were still protesting before Trump spoke. I appreciate your efforts to keep pulling Trump into this debate but we can all multi-task. I'm satisfied, Rand and Trump are still chipping away at an Obamacare plan and it seems Tax reform is being worked on even though that will take an act of god. Rome wasn't built in a day. Question is, will the leftist ideals destroy American football? Can yo you speak to just that?

Did you catch Rush last night? Thought provoking.

Here is the list of players protesting. Trump spoke the beginning of week 3.

http://www.espn.com/blog/nflnation/...ing-the-national-anthem-of-the-2017-preseason

I didn't insert Trump into the debate, he did that all by himself.

If you are satisfied with where things are you have incredibly low standards, but that may be self evident given proclivities.

As far as your question goes, I reject the premise of it-you paint it with false logic. So I guess I speak to it by saying it isn't a logical question.

The Air Force Academy's reaction, as an aside, that's what actual leadership looks like.

Dictator with, or without nukes?

Without it is far easier to free the shit out of the place.

personally, my approach is ensure the people want liberated. if the people want liberated, send in green berets or other group to help solidify a new government. ensure the people we WILL help them rebuild, then destroy the oppressive regime. of course then there will be a faction of americans who look at iraq and say yeah it was only for oil, but who cares.

if we wouldve copy and pasted in afghanistan what we did in japan, we'd have an ally in that shit hole. they fought the commies back with our financial support, then left them high and dry.

nukes....that takes several platoons of frogmen and delta. almost a suicide mission. remove nuke capability before conventional warfare takes place.

Don't forget about Slick Willy who gave them Nukes to begin with.

Who gave them nukes in the first place; oh you mean Pakistan?

I love it when people historically revise something as if there were better options back then. Absent invasion, I'd love to hear how the problem would have been solved.

I love it when people defend it as though it was a rational decision.

Maybe not giving them two Nuke plants and 5 billion so they couldn't separate plutonium from spent fuel rods?

So, yes Ray, I would say there were better choices given what's transpired. Il, not a good guy.

So, I hear the Stealers are def. going to be on the field this week, no question says a team captain. Well, I'd bet so...

So you think the 94 framework is why the DPRK has nukes?
Incredibly narrow view of the history of their program. Moreover, you fail to point out any alternatives. Just allusions without substance, aka the normal MO.

Are the Steelers on the field some kind of reflection of the problem being solved?

Is this like how chipping away at something that was promised to be revoked in total is satisifying?

I think it was a part of it, at the minimum it stalled the UN inspectors and gave Il more time (sounds familiar, Iran maybe?), at worst they were able to get weapon grade plutonium.

As mentioned, the strategy we have now is much different from the past presidents, a breath of fresh air. Time and only time will tell Ray.

When you do the same thing over and over while expecting different results it's called insanity. At this point Ray, we will agree to disagree. Moreover, this is straying from the NFL. On the contrary, the NFL has made their bed, now they must lie in it. It's my belief (opposite of yours) this will have a longstanding negative effect on the league. You don't piss on where you sleep, bite the hand the feeds you, that kind of thing.

It was part of it, there were many parts; but some like to cherry pick certain portions as if they were the critical component. They then follow them with nonsubstantive commentary, or comments like 'time and only time will tell' which is one of those phrases people say to seem smart but has no actual depth.

It has definitely strayed from the NFL, Brian. We can agree to disagree, it matters little to me-I bet you when I hit Lambeau in a few weeks there will still be a sizeable crowd (we all know that measuring crowd size can get contentious), I'll report back my observations.

In the meantime, in order to keep the nexus where it should be-i.e. the contrived drama associated with the NFL ginned up by a president beset by abject failure after failure in actually getting things done (for the most part, brief highlights of governance have occured. Ironically when there was an actual effort to be bipartisan. One wonders if that is illustrative of what democracy actually should be?)

But on that, here's a fun one for you to counter: is Trump doing this not just to distract from ACA repeal/replace failure, his HHS secretary's swamp draining travel schedule (among others), Jared's private email account (lock him up?), the Russia investigation (hasn't gone away, and when the IRS is involved people are going to get F'd), hurricane response...anyway, that's just this week in the circus-what I'd like to get your perspective on is do you think this is as much about that as also trying to get back for the whole USFL debacle?

This is a pretty good article on all of that.

And some claim cherry picking and non substantive commentary when they themselves are against the wall with simple facts. Goodness, Ray. If it quacks like a duck..... Kind of like Clinton and Lynch on the tarmac, you would say nothing to see here, this is non substantive commentary and wasn't in the WAPO. The rest of America says, "Yea right!"

This has and will continue to be the core of our debates. We have fundamental differences on how we absorb information we see or hear. It's okay, different strokes for different folks. Doesn't mean I'm right, doesn't mean your right. That's what I mean by time will tell. I'm perfectly happy with waiting it out, you however, may not like it. Understandable.

I know you missed me on the Trump thread, hopefully this will tide you over.

Only two sides to this debate you are either fine with black folks being shot by Police or you are not fine with it.
