    97 Disco SD $650

The truck is automatic and has 232 K miles on it, I have owned the truck for the past 10 years. Of course, I personally thought the car was (is) worth more than $650, and I am amazed to see such nice older trucks sell for under 2K...Been trying to sell it for 2 months, starting price I asked...

    Disappearing coolant

The upper hose is hard. I thought it was leaking around the thermostat housing. I replaced the thermostat and seal( which was so brittle it just crumbled into pieces when I pulled it off), but it didn't stop the leak. To my surprise there was no visible coolant in the oil. One thing I do...

    Disappearing coolant

I have been noticing coolant loss for the past month that has progressively become worse. Dropped the oil pan saturday to take care of another issue but I noticed no coolant in the oil. When I cut the truck off for a few minutes after driving it for a while, it seems to run rough for about 30...

    Flickering oil light

Dropped the pan yesterday. Oil in the pan looked fine but the pickup was completely clogged with what looked to be dried up flakes of oil. Hopefully that was causing the flickering oil light and my oil pump is fine. Now if I can figure out where all my coolant has been going I'll be in...

    Flickering oil light

Driving on the interstate on the way to work this morning, my oil light started to flicker. I immediately pulled over and checked the oil. Oil level was ok and looked fine. Cranked the truck back up and light was off at idle. Under acceleration the light started to flicker again. I searched...

    codes P0301 and P1316

1997 truck/hesitating sputtering especially in higher gear/speeds. CEL illuminated and pulled codes P0301 and P1316. I initially thought fuel pump problem, but I suspect may be bad plug wire. Sprayed water on wire 1 emits blue light show... Would any other malfunction be the culprit for...

Thanks. The problem is that I can't get the old pad back in to use it as a brace. The pistions are stuck flush against the rotor.

    Front brake pistons "stuck"

I was trying to change my front brake pads and got the first pad in, but I can't get the other pad in for the back side of the rotor because the pistons are "stuck". I removed the first pad, and those pistons still wont budge. Any help is appreciated.

Lube clinic won't work on Disco??

I wanted the local Lube center to drain and fill the coolant, and to change the radiator hoses while their at it. They refused to do the work, and said it's b/c they won't work on Land Rovers. How difficult can this be? By the way, they said they only offered the radiator flush. Can DiscoI...

    Shrader valve

From what I've read here, when changing the fuel filter, releasing the pressure via the shrader valve is preferred over th efule fuel pump relay. Where is the shrader valve, and what does it look like?

Transmission fluid filter change--Don't do it?

Wow. Thanks for all the info. Bottom line is, car has 153,000 miles, I've owned it since 48,000 miles. Transmission seems fine minus occasional surge from start. Honestly, I don't really know what to do. What happened is I waited till i put about 50,000 miles on the truck (98,000 total...

Transmission fluid filter change--Don't do it?

Speaking of T-fluid changes--has anyone heard of the BG PF5 power flush and exchange system offered at some lube centers? Guess you have to remove the filter for the flush tho.
