To rephrase I am stuck in locked diff high, and need to get to unlocked diff high.
Try as I might I can't get the shifter to slide to the right.
I have owned the truck since it is new and have never had a problem.
:o I have a 98 Disco and I my shifter is stuck in 4 High. It will slide to Neutral and 4 Low but not to 2 High or 2 Low. I have pushed on the shifter in Drive, Neutral, Reverse, Stopped, Rolling down a hill. Nothin. Any ideas?
I recently went to Advanced Auto, and borrowed thier code reader and I was able to erase it prior to my state emissions test. My truck was working fine as well. The light was only on for about 1 week. It has yet to return. I did a google and found a site that kind of discribed that this code is...

No silly...my head rest is stuck in the lowest position and no matter how hard I yank on it it wont come up. I searched the archives but came up empty.
Any ideas?

I have already tightened the intake manifold and stopped that leak.
My plugs and wires are up todate.
Valve cover gasket is sweating - not leaking.
The coolant is coming out between the head and the block.
If the engine is going to need to be rebuild, say around 120k, then I would juice it up...
No coolant in the oil. I just changed it 600 miles ago and the oil is clear of water.
The leak is on the front of the head. Just a thin stream snaking down the block.

What is the expected life of a disco engine?
I have 80k and a the head is starting to leak a little coolant.
Should I drive it till it blows?
Can I use stop leak to prolong the agony?
Should I get a motor job done now?

Several items also fall out of my D1 hole.
I need to replace mine.
One day the plastic inner shell broke into several pieces and now everything is loose.
I have run cross drilled and slotted rotors on the front and stock on the rear of my truck for 20K miles - no problem. I am now going to put the performance rotors on the rear.
