I agree. I actually own all three. I have a 7.62X39 AK (Romainian), personally built 5.56X45 M4, and a 7.62X51 SOCOM 16(M1A). By far my favorite of the three is the M1A. But considering you don't like the price tag, I'd go with the AR platform. Very easy to find parts, easy to work on or repair...

Thats something youre going to want to have to proper equipment to do if you ask me. Youll be able to drop it, but I think getting back in right might be a different story. It possible, but I think you'll be biting off more then you want to chew.

I fully understand that. Thats a given, and tire size was stated in that same post. I didnt feel like it was necessary to break it down "Barney style". Besides, what would be the purpose of a lift if you dont need it for larger tire accommodations?
