    Code 14 ?

Check to make sure you don't have the #1 injector connector swapped with the near by temp sensor. They are the same looking plug and the harness just 'Y' at the end they can be reversed very easily. Causes a code 14. (Don't ask.)

    This one's got me stumped....

Guess you still don't buy the facts and still trying to win your bet. Let's review. Coil replaced....car runs. Not sure who's lacking imagination. Good rap though.

    This one's got me stumped....

Glad you mentioned it PT, amazingly it was considered. The fuel filter and pump were replaced first. No inexpensive or easy way to test fuel pressure on a '91 classic so swapped 'em. The coil was the last thing swapped that made a world of difference, I'm making an assumption that the spark...

    This one's got me stumped....

Wimpy coil. The temp sensor is bad too probably. The fuel is blowing out the wimpy spark or there is simply to much fuel (wrong mix) due to the inability for it to sense the temp. Get a genuine coil (ours was a NAPA that her dad purchased, not good) and a temp sensor. I fought this on my...

95 RRC starting issue any ideas?

We fixed a starting problem with a genuine coil. She had bought one from NAPA and it was not hot enough. It made a wimpy little spark. As PT suggests if you replace all that, I'm sure it will work. Now, can you reduce the list a little to save money? Probably but hard to pick what to try...

    TPS and MAF adjustment

Kalahari, I did everything you did except for the base idle speed. My problem was the same. It would idle way to low and stall once running in closed loop. Tried 1.6V 1.7V same crap. I put the MAF back to 1.88V and all is good. How do you adjust the idle speed? I assumed the ECU controlled...

    1.9 TDI in a RRC???

This is very intriguing and much cheaper then the International. They can be found in salvage yard in the US. The engine probably can be tuned to provide as much HP and torque as the 3.9 V8. It would be a fun project. Wish Mercedes would get off their butt and start production of the DiesOtto.

92 RRC Hesitiates while coasting downhill

If you are going to take the IACV off to clean it just put a new one on. They are $22 at auto-zone. Tell them you have an astro van with a V6. I did mine a couple weeks ago, it was really dirty and the cleaning was a waste of time. It is one of the cheapest parts I've bought in a while...

    P38 Build?

Graham, nope. Hers is #317. Got my own GDE, #003. It's running and needs to be inspected so I can get real tags on her. Stupid contractor has the alley torn up for the past 2 weeks or I'd have it done. Truck is trapped in the garage.

    P38 Build?

How did the head gasket job go Kyle? She all running again? Discoinjapan, they don't always follow, a few weeks ago i lead the night run and got accolades from a built RRC and mod. LR3. "That P38 really handles well....????". My usual response "I love that truck." But, as Kyle knows, I do...

    starter relay 93' LWB

Leverage is your friend. Use a breaker bar with a long lever. I know the feeling. The first time I was lying in a parking lot just following a 200 mi. trail run in the rain. I had just about everything falling in my eyes and getting wet. I didn't think it would ever come loose. Good luck...

    Auto Trans Kick Down Cable

Anyone know the correct procedure for the cable adjustment? Thanks to Stevo, I just put his engine in my GDE. It actually runs pretty good. Somewhere in the swap I must have spun the nuts on that cable. First trip around the block was some serious whiplash between 1 and 2 and never went past...

    ABS Brake Bleeding Problems

If you have ABS.. wouldn't each caliper have it's own control/distribution of pressurized brake fluid? I think each wheel gets it fluid from the abs control valve. There is two halves to the reservoir for the front and back, ensure they both have fluid in them. (There is just a partition in...

02 P38 Air Suspension Can you trick it to stay up permanantly?

You can go into the program and set all the stored height settings for each position to the same uplifted position. So no matter what mode the computer thinks it needs to be in the height setting it will shoot for is the same number it just came from. The end results is the truck stays in the...

    Mileage Based Driving Tax

    My Truck is still stalling!!!

You can eliminate the spark and fuel delivery marginality by putting the truck in 1st gear and seeing if you can get it to 4000 RPM and hold it. If it spits and sputters it is one of the above. If it runs smooth then start looking into electronic components that influence ignition. My girl...
