Why does Rover V8 require premium fuel?

    90+ Octane = zero-60 in 45 seconds 87 Octane = zero-60 in 45.5 seconds No pinging with either.

What do you do for a living?

My daughter is a drum major this year, in a very good HS program. I gave her my D2 to drive, she ran into 3 other cars and totaled the one in front of her. Thankfully she was ok. I was on here to research some strange noises now coming from my D2 and stumbled on to this thread...all I hear...

    Why you shouldn't buy a D2

and now...for the REST of the story: I have, over the last 103,000 miles fixed/replaced/dealt with: Warranty - headgaskets, radiator, upper engine wiring harness, cat converter, front drive shaft, steering column. Non warranty - a couple door lock actuators, window regulator (homemade fix...

    Why you shouldn't buy a D2

I bought mine in 08/2001. Never stranded me, towed trailers, off-roaded, beat to crap - maintained decently but not OCD-like. TJM bumper, winch tray and Superwinch are the only upgrades. Gave it to my 17y/o daughter to drive...6 months later she has a wreck, hits 3 cars, totals a new Impala in...

    Saab 9-3?

I've got an '01 9-3 Viggen right at 99K miles....Not unlike a Rover in the maintenance dept. They are functional and economical - just be prepared to take care of stuff. I've replaced my throttle body (x2), IDM, idler pulley, cabin sensor fan, clutch, a/c compressor along with the usual...

    Window Regulator issue

Mine did the same thing, I drilled out the crappy spot weld that holds the 'half moon' gear and the 'stop' and replaced it with a bolt/nut and locktite. This gives a really solid 'stop' point. 2 years later and still going strong. The window 'frame' fits easily through the opening once you do...

best deal on Strap and DRings

Consider this: I bought the older version of the EW3 strap from Expedition Exchange back in 2001 or 2002. I also purchased shackles, rings, etc. from them at that time. After 8 or more years of use and abuse, the strap was still fine....until I recently shredded the end of it pulling a neighbor...

    Which butthole is this?

Bottom line, it's LU's property to do with as they wish. Something a little smaller (as in not half a mountain-side full of land-scape boulders) would have been a little more refined and tasteful. FWIW - the school has been very gracious with the property, keeping it open to the public...

    Yeah SAAB!

Sweet. Viggen parts for a few more years! Maybe they can revive the brand - GM watered it down to nothing.
