    Transfer case nut size

The big nuts (behind the u-joints) at front and back of the transfer case, what size socket do I need? I don’t have the right size, so I need to know what size to buy. Thanks!

    D1 transfer case leak

It looks to be coming from both front and rear main seals - output to the driveshafts (if that is the correct term). Rear seems to be leaking from inside the park brake. Does the transfer case have to come out?

    Water in Transmission

I forgot to write it down but I am pretty sure I changed the filter and fluid a couple of years ago and would have put less than 1000 miles since. But now I have water in the transmission fluid. Do I need to go ahead and change the filter or can I be lazy and just drain and refill?

    Took it too far!

:banghead: Decided to drive the Disco to work today in the massive Houston floods. Slept straight through and didn't bother to watch the news this morning or I would have known better. Snorkel did fine and passed through one or two low spots with water over the hood before the one in the...

    Military style tires?

Anybody running STA Super Traxion or Deestone tires? I have an extra set of steel wheels and would like to put something like these on, something that would likely never see the highway. Or any other suggestions...

    Blinker/hazard/horn electrical issue

I get in yesterday for a short trip to the store and back. On the way back the left blinker lights are on (not blinking) and stay on when I kill the truck. So I start pulling fuses under the dash and the lights stay on, all fuses are good. So I move to the fuses under the hood and pull the...

    Icon Vehicle Dynamics dealers

Anyone here happen to be an Icon Vehicle Dynamics dealer? I am looking for the coil-over kit for my GMC. Long shot, I know since they don't sell Land Rover parts, but I figure its worth a try...

    Concrete Sand mix...

I want to put a sand base layer down then lay landscaping tiles as a walkway. Can I mix the sand with a concrete mix to give it some extra strength? What ratio can I cut the concrete mix down to, (i.e. 1 part sand 1 part concrete, or 1 part sand 2 parts concrete...)?

Hiking adventure trip via Southwest Air...?

I have some credit at Southwest that I need to use. The lady and I decided that we would like to do a hiking adventure thing somewhere (spring break week, March 14th). We went to a place in Puerto Vallarta once that offered a 6 hour hike, zip line, repel sort of adventure. We couldn't do it...

No oil pressure after sitting for months

So I went to try to start the Disco for the first time in months last night. It started fine and had the typical knocking and no oil pressure as is usual after sitting. But usually the pressure comes a few seconds into it, 30 or so at most. This time it never got pressure. I tried pouring a...

    D90 calipers on Disco1

Do the D90 front calipers require new (longer) bolts or will the old Disco caliper bolts work?

    Am I a dork if...

...I take my Disco to an office car show? The office building I work in is having a car show... My Disco is nothing special on this board but next to a bunch of office geeks it might be unique. Or does nobody care about my old junky Rover? I don't know if I could do it, feels strange...

    D90 brake upgrade...

I have purchased a kit for the front end replacement. Now my question is, should I bother with upgrading the rear, or will the difference be minimal because it's the rear? Hell, the rear brakes in the D90 could be the same for all I know...

Buying 2010 now vs. waiting for 2011...?

I turn in a lease in early December and am going to replace it with a GMC Z71 4x4 (purchase). So the salesman is working hard to convince me to get the 2010 truck now ("one of only 2 inside a 500 mile radius") because I will not get the big discounts on a 2011 in Nov-Dec when I would ideally...

    Real-estate legal question

So I am reading over a lease for a dumpy little place in a "hot" part of town. I asked the agent to give me the Right of First Refusal if the owner should decide to sell. So it reads: Its not really a lease-option or a lease-purchase, so does it work or is that an oxymoron and void?

You dummies know a good Wine of the Month Club?

I have been thinking about joining one in an effort to become more of a yuppie, and learn a thing or two about wine. But seriously... And on a date last night this girl told me she would do "wine nights" with me if I did it, so now I'm shopping!

Can a bad steering stabilizer cause wheel shake?

I am getting some pretty bad wheel shakes at around 35 - 40 mph. The back and fourth type sorta like when you push a shopping cart too fast and the front wheels go crazy. I think I need an alignment anyway, but I am wondering if a new steering stabilizer could fix a lot? I think I'll buy a...

    Another puppy question...

My dog, Clyde (retriever mix), is about 7 months old. He was maybe around 5 weeks when he was found abandoned and I picked him up from the person that found him that same day. He is shit scared of going around any other human. If there is a dog, it is no problem, and eventually he will warm...

    Boat Repair Tutorials?

My fiberglass sailboat is in need of some small repairs involving the receiving end of screw down points. Pardon the idiot terminology. One example is the cam-cleats need to be replaced. In some minor attempts to remove the existing ones, I can't break the screws loose so I am thinking they...
