It's that time again! We've been very busy cutting new trails to accommodate those that wanted to wheel more last year. Trails have been expanded by +100%. There are some serious hill climbs, switch backs and off camber trails that will challenge the experienced driver. We've also cut trails over at T&T Motorsports with some creek crossings that will certainly get thicker and more difficult as the day goes by. Lastly, we have even more trails over at Esmont just a few miles aways! This is the second year at Willow Hill Farm and we're making the effort to give everyone more of what they've come to expect from MAR. Don't miss out. Early registration ends 9/19. Visit us at www.roav.org for more info. http://www.roav.org/ForumsPro/viewtopic/p=3870.html#3870

Trevor,
The entrance is through a gate on Chesnut Grove Rd. Tried uploading the topo map with trails and the site keeps saying upload errors.

The club has asked the Hatton Ferry, the nations last hand poled ferry, to remain open both Friday and Saturday for anyone that wants to check it out. http://www.thehattonferry.org/ not exactly a camel trophy raft but the closest you will get in Central Virginia. Rt 20 bridge is definately faster.

We have also asked one of the local canoe rental shops in Scottsville to have a person onsite Friday and Saturday for those who want to do that from Scottsville down to Willow Hill.
Nice town Scottsville- pulled in to the Exxon there on main street Saturday and removed the fuel cap from the disco, set it on the car trailer, and had to go inside to pay when the pump couldn't read my card. Some sombitch stole my damn gas cap in that 90 seconds.
I now have one of the later tethered caps.

Happy to email the trail map to anyone who wants it. Dweb says a small jpeg is an invalid file.

Where is the new property in Esmont? I've made lots of crack related arrests in that area...

Sounds about right.

It's a run to get up there. I'm serious when I say there is open air crack dealing at the intersection of Irish Rd and Porters Rd in Esmont. They sit in lawn chairs on the north side of the road and on old landscaping timbers on the south side of the road. If there are to be night runs up there I would be very careful on the roads and look out for deer and drug activity. You are in a very remote area.

Can't wait I'll post a Spares for MAR post wnen I get home.

Crack dealers enroute sounds like home..most of them here drive P38s I'll bring spares for them too.

so true for where your shop is.

the amount of theiving that went on @ the swap meet area @ Oak Ridge was indicative that the folks driving Rovers aren't exactly stellar souls.

Great news! This year's 2011 MAR will have showers on site! www.roav.org

showers. seriously. if you want to attract the kind of crowd that wants showers, cell phone service, dry ice, catering, etc. we get the point. we will all forego mar and head further south, where the emphasis is more on wheeling, shooting the shit around the fire, and more wheeling. we can shower when we get home.
i honestly hope mar is a success, but will it be fun?
