I like the showers.

I wish Widner liked to shower more.

I can deal with not taking a shower for a few days. But I guess it's hard to smell yourself. In the "big tent" in 2007 during the auction we experienced just that. Some of you fuckers really stink! It was pretty bad. 2007 was a hot, dusty, year for MAR. The stench of BO was overwhelming. Thought I was in Canada.

i agree...showers are a waste of club money. which is why we bring our own camp shower -_-

as of late, MAR does feel kinda like an event put on by a dealership rather than a rover club. i'm still going.

worst funk to date was uwharrie '03ish or '04, trevor, bard, and i were drinking pounders of schlitz blue bull all weekend, weather was about 90 the whole time, and we only paked cans of beans and hormel chili.

showers. seriously. if you want to attract the kind of crowd that wants showers, cell phone service, dry ice, catering, etc. we get the point. we will all forego mar and head further south, where the emphasis is more on wheeling, shooting the shit around the fire, and more wheeling. we can shower when we get home.
i honestly hope mar is a success, but will it be fun?

The campground @ Uwharrie has perm showers, flush toilets, and cell service as Tobias said above.

Last year complaint 's that there weren't any showers, this year sniping because there are. Cell service, like the shower trailer, is being provided by members. The cellular guy owns a company that goes in after natural disasters and provdies temporary communications with a portable rig until cell towers can be brought back on line. The club isn't paying for cell service -but we didn't decline it when it was offered either. Not sure where the dry ice comment is coming from.

sorry, i meant ice truck. im honestly not trying to be a dick, but MAR used to be very very fun. the last MAR i went to was i think '03, i rode with a buddy because i was told my gwagen would not be allowed on the trails just like vince sweeney when he brought his volvo. EVEN though that fat chick Comille wheeled her gwagen all weekend with no ROAV bod's telling her she was not allowed to wheel it...vince was finally allowed to use his volvo ONLY to recover stuck rovers?. then i went again last year (with my rover), and spent two days playing follow the leader on one hill???
i feel for you guys trying to cater to everyone's likes/dislikes, but come on. why will you guys not have MAR at the COVE??? if people are concerned with showers they can stay at a hotel 15 minutes away.

Had a buddy give me a few Milk Stout's from Duck Rabbit brewery in NC. Been several months since I've had a Duck Rabbit because we cannot buy it here. That has got to be the very best Milk Stout ever made. Period. Nothing comes close.

Now Molson Ice, that's beer right there. Haha. That's like beer-shits in a can.
