4.11, or something close to that, how is it?

I was running 35's with 4.10's for a while. That was in the RRC with a 4.6. Not bad. It was only a short time as I was building my diffs with 4.88's.

Justin at Lucky8 offers 4.30 gearing now which seems nice for 35s. My buddy runs 4.75s and they seem a little low for DD, if yours is a trail truck the 4.75s are good.

If you're primary use will be trail, then go 4.88's. I had them with 35's and they were great. With the LR's lower, high and low range LT230, then the 4.11's would be a good compromise between street and off road.

more street than trail sadly. shoulda said 4.10's...

im stock with 32's and it is not too bad, stock on 33's was about the limit of no power.

Considering that 4.10s bring a truck with 33s close to stock, 4.30s & 35s would be a better choice than 4.10s. I plan on doing this in about a month(35s on 4.30s), mine will still be a DD. I'll keep you updated.....

ya, thats what i was kinda thinking, but 32's on 3.54's is steeper than 35's on 4.10 i think.

I have 4.10's, the next gearset is 4.56, and that will be slightly too much i think, especially on the highway.

if it is about as slow as it is now (32's w/ 3.54), that is fine, if it is a little quicker, then thats better, but if it is slower, then well it is slower.....

My buddy that runs 4.75s is running 33s and tachs 3000 @65mph on the highway, but he has a 110 with a 5spd so it might be a little different than an auto tranny....

I have 35's with stock gears. It's not terribly fun but it's workable, I think 4.10s would do the trick.

Does it struggle offroad with stock gearing?

On my D1 going from 31" to 33"(255/85) I honestly didn't notice a huge difference(except on very steep mountain hills had to kick down to maintain 70+) on road or off.

To the o.p., there is a fella in Lexington that is running 35" Krawlers on his 98 D1 with 4.11's and says it is geared fine for dd or trail running.

Thats the same thing I run but mine is strictly a trail truck only so I really don't have a lot of insight when it comes to daily driving....trails its fine, although I would choose 4.88 if I was going to have just a trail rig.

I've been running 35s with 4:11s for a couple of years now. Speedo is perfect. I can do 70+ all day on the highway. I do have a 4.6 which helps, but the ratios feel spot on.

Chad you are right, the speedo is perfect. Getting up to 70 is the problem. Or driving on any kind of grade. I only had two good drives on my 35's. One was to southern Indiana which wasn't terrible because it was so flat, the other was from Salt Lake to Moab. Thank God I shipped my tires to Marc's house and drove out on 255x85's because the drive through the mountains was rough.

Yeah...the mountains of St Louis aren't too bad. I think it would be perfect with some new high gears in the case.
