In this price range, I am seeing lights around 200 lumens from various manufacturers. I wanna know who has experience with lights in this price range and what they recommend.

Thanks.

Well when you determined which one you want, might I suggest going to lapolicegear.com to buy they have some of the best prices on the web.

I don't recall who makes mine, but I have had it for 5 or 6 years without fail, it does eat batteries though...

I have a Streamlight TwinTask3AAA, laser, tungsten, LED. It cost me $55 from the Matco truck and I've had it going on three or four years. It has become somewhat intermittent so it will probably have to go back to them, but after that long, I'm still thinking it's a good flashlight for the price and the laser pointer is handy often.

There are a ton out there, so just pick one. The only other thing to think about is batteries. Using up 123s all the time might get a bit pricy after a while.

over here I run a nova light aluminum body single very bright led uses 1 AA overall length about a 1.5 times the length of a AA. Not a bad light does a good job has taken a beating and it was $19.00.

I would stick to either the Streamlight or the Sure Fire.

I have the Streamlight Stinger. I like it a lot, however, it has it's weaknesses. I keep it in the truck 24/7 http://discoweb.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=48544&d=1245887624 It's a fine light for the truck, but the battery only lasts about an hour. So if you're planning to use the light to track the buffalo you just shot, this might not be the light for you. I'm happy with it, but I would not carry a light like this in a bugout bag...

i have a Surefire G2, and a Pelican M6. both are bright as hell and neither have given me a problem (have abused them both). also both lights use the 123 batteries, which can get expensive if you kids like to play with them (damn kids). the pelican came with a belt holster to carry the light along with 2 spare batteries. i will say that i like the M6 because of the case, no accidental turn on of the light to kill it.

I have been reading about Coast lights. Super bright lumens wise and they run AAA batteries. They also last a loooong time on a set of batteries.
