Into the Wild was a good book and a pretty good movie but the sad fact is that kid was just a fucking moron. He sure as hell wasn't no H.D. Thoreau.

I am glad some one else said this first. He wasn't some seeker or lover of beauty, he was a spoiled rich kid who threw and tantrum and froze to death.

Last of the Mohicans and Demon Knight are two of my picks.

Last of the Mohicans was good. Won an Oscar for the score I believe, correct me if I am wrong.

Also thought Detroit Rock city had a good soundtrack as well.

That's coz it had mostly 80s hair bands on it and everyone knows that 80s hair bands rule :yeah: especially KISS

Resevoir Dogs x3

I like the Spawn soundtrack actually, there was a lot of really good collaboration between artists on that one (Crystal Method & Filter, Metallica and Orbital, etc.)

Top Gun is hands down a badass album still.

Forrest Gump soundtrack is great, has a good broad collection of music from the era. The Big Chill is the same way.

Top Gun, yup, and, actually, at the time, I liked the Iron Eagle soundtrack, hadn't thought of it in years, don't know what I'd think if I relistened to it now.

Agree on Braveheart and Last of the Mohicans. The Patriot would be another good one there.

Lost Boys is one of my favorites, too. The Crow, also.

I tend to think there are only two opinions when it comes to Mr. Supertramp. Love or love to hate. This story tends to scare people, and reinforce the conformist consumer we all claim not to be. I can imagine a much more morose fate than his, like never having tried at all.

The Fountain. Clint Mansell's masterpiece.

Braveheart, Last of the Mohicans, both amazing.

Let's not forget however, Shawshank Redemption. The warmth of the strings in this soundtrack is simply outstanding.

Also Master and Commander if you like Classical.

For more new-agey stuff, Baraka is incredible, as is nearly anything by Philip Glass.

For popular music, I have little to add to what's already been said. Tank Girl, Snatch, both awesome.
