+4 in brake lines are too short. I had custom lines made at a local hydraulics shop for about 120$

Frank- don't I need a special tool to install those? I was just going to make some custom bump stops that mount in a different location.

nope, pop the ball joint out of the bottom of the shock, (e-clip) heat up the rod end, remove it, put the bump on, re-install the rod end. You can put the shock rod in a vise, just wrap it in a couple of shop rags to prevent dinging or buggering it up. You can buy this:

http://www.polyperformance.com/shop/Synergy-Shock-Soft-Jaws-p-24559.html

which probably isn't a bad idea because you'll never need to buy new shocks, just re-build the bling's...

yep, just be careful you don't muck up the shaft...you also need to fully extend the shock to keep heat away from the seal housing. It doesn't take much heat to soften up the locktite..

Where do you get the sleeves to go from the .5" eye to the bolt size on the D2? Also, do you have to do anything special to keep the eyes from moving side to side, or are they the correct width already?

Check with Kyle on what he's done, I haven't had the 7100's for years and to tell you the truth I can't remember...misalignment spacers will keep the shock centered...

Eshocks. 1/2" to 12mm step down spacer. Those and a couple washers will get it centered in the stock mount. I think you find those spacers under "rod ends and hardware" on the website.

Why bother. Get a 1/2" bit and ream out the tower mounts. Use a 1/2" bolt and locknut. Done.

Seems like the sleeves will be faster, easier, and allow me to go back to 12mm if I want.

Either way I already ordered them a few minutes ago haha.

Cheers

Sleeves, just another piece of metal to seize up. My D2 towers are on my D1, I never plan on running a stock Rover shock in their again.

True about the rear, though.

Thanks Kyle, I ended up buying 4 of the spacers... now thinking about it I probably should have ordered 8, but I'm only doing the rears for no anyways.
