Looking for a multifinction watch with compass, seems handy.

Tissot Touch, but it's a bit too fancy, I want more rugged...

Casio Pathfinder, but I have not seen one in person, and the dimensions listed on the web (62.3x52.2x14mm) seems ridiculous. Might as well just strap a Garmin to my wrist.

Any other suggestions? My friend says Citizen makes one, but I haven't seen it.

As previous guy said, get a Tag. Friend has one & I love it. Now, I needed a good dive watch but was not willing to shell out the money for a Tag. So, after talking to NUMEROUS dive shops around Florida, they suggested every time either a Reactor or Tag. So I went with Reactor. This S.O.B. is TUFF! Plus the warranty is very nice...

I have 3 Tags, one is so old it'a only a Heuer (before Tag got into the act), they're great watches, but for something you want to use in the field I'd X2 on the G-Shock. As far as the compass goes, I'd X2 on get a good GPS. You not only get the compass, you get the lat/long, time, + a good map of where you are, for way less than an expensive watch.

I have a Reactor "Photon" - pretty tough so far and I'm pretty hard on watches, (a few scratches in the crystal and the case has some dings) but it doesn't do much more than just tell time....from what I recall the warranty is pretty good. The "Trident" model has tritium dials if you want real glow in the dark.

I have had a Sunto with the GPS, and the battery has been crappy so decided to get the Casio Pathfinder. As a work watch its great, rugged, has what i need and the best thing its solar battery never gave me an issue. And for 150 bucks (got it online) its hard to beat. As far as dimensions go, its definitely a bit thicker than any other watch i have had before, but it has all the needed functions and i think it looks great as well. Plus its all metal to include the wristband. Me personally i like to have a nicer watch for going out and a more rugged one for work.

Cheaper the Better. K-Mart. The watch doesn't make you .
. Just think of what you can buy for your Rover other then a piece of chrome that is a waste .

Thanks for the advice! I was really thinking that a compass watch would propel my career, get me laid, and turn me into an all around better person. But your words have really inspired me to be myself rather that who society wants me to be, watching american idol with my compass watch on, drinking coke zero.

I wanted to know other companies that I haven't found who make a watch with a compass, not a life coach.

"The watch doesn't make you."...are you even a real person?

I use Casio pathfinder, but those temp. compass, alt. etc are use as a reference only, When I go hiking, I put it on my backpack's shoulder strip, for a accurate temp reading, but I am still off 5-10C. Other than that, they are really good, tough battery last forever as it use solar power to charge the battery.
If I buy again, I will get a G-shock and a GPS handheld. And you are right, the patherfinder is huge.

Got a friend that have a 1st generation Tissot Touch, after sales services was great! Within warrenty period he need to bring his watch for repair. After the repair, only the belt and the case was from his old watch and rest is new. He only need to pay for some parts that is consider as consumable parts, less than USD10 bucks. He got the watch along with his other friend and both watches had the same repair story.

Maybe a Suunto.
