Two-Tone?

Well if the TAG had the 2.5x mag , I might give points on this comp. but........

apples and oranges

your comparing a $10,000 automatic to a $1,000 quartz entry level watch

to me they are night and day, in style, price, the only similarity is the color

Come on, pwp. It's obvious what Tag is doing in their designs. Sure, there's going to be some cosmetic differences - that keeps people like you thinking their watch is not really a knock off....because it's a little bit different. But it's obvious what Tag was doing.

I used to want a Panerai. Before I buy something, especially in the price range, I'm going to google the hell out of it. It seems that Panerai has become a status symbol of pimply faced, spoiled girls. All it took to crush my desire was to see a pic of one of these brats sporting a massive Panerai.

If you want a Panerai or something else that is that bold, just wait a while and see if that desire lasts.

The best made in my mind and experience. I've owned at one time or another about ten Sinn watches. That was in my watch junky days long over that thank God!

For the OP I recommend the Casio Pathfinder. I have a couple Suuntos and other than feeling better ie more pliable strap and smaller they EAT batteries!

As far as Tissot not worth it. I owned a few of those and personally think the T-touch is junk. It is very hard to operate.

Casio rules!

I could keep posting, but I think I've made my point.

It's fine if you can't afford one of these watches. They're a lot of money. But damn, don't buy a knock off.

Well if thats the case than is Omega ripping off Rolex, or Rolex Omega? Or maybe they just copy eachother they all look pretty close to me.

They are VERY comfortable. I have a Suunto Vector. But hey, I don't disagree that they go through a battery once a year, but it takes some power to run the barometer, altimeter, and compass! Don't forget the trade off on the good for the bad. :victory:

i never considered getting anything but a Rolex, for a dress watch. Its classy, doesnt have 15 different dials, a microphone to communicate with Aqua man, etc etc. and it just look plain good. Two tones are very nice. But again, just all depends on ones price range.

A P. Philipe is an incredible understated timepiece! EVERYBODY and his brother has a GMT or O.Paneri! I saw a tacky-ass old man with a big gold necklace with a GMT today in Florida! The Phillipes, IWC's, and Tag Monaco's are understated and elegant! An older Cartier Tank just says "class" as well...

Paneri have a nice retro look IMO, I think they have just gotton trendy status, but its still on my list tacky-ass men or not

Totally agree on the Schaffhausen and Monaco's, as far a Cartier I think the the Pasha is thier nicest series. Have you seen Cartiers central chronograph, Rotonde de Cartier?
That is the classiest chronograph I have ever seen.

I don't understand the watch thing these days. The last watch I bought was a g-shock (25 years ago) when I was in the Navy.
If I'm in the office, my computer or the clock on the wall will tell me the time.
If I'm on the road, I can tell what time it is from the clock on the radio of my work truck.
Mostly, I'm in the field & the time of day does not matter; just getting the fieldwork done takes priority. If I'm curious of the time of day I have a personal cell phone and a work cell phone that are very accurate timepieces.
In my work truck and a couple of my personal vehicles, I have an $8.00 compass hanging from a lanyard on the rear-view mirror.
If we go on a road trip we take a laptop equipped with DeLorme.

I think fancy-man watches are bracelets for men that happen to tell the time.
And I see no use for them aside from trying to impress others.

But who cares? If you can afford it, I couldnt care less what you put on your wrist.
