TAG rules, I have two :)

For me watches are about automatic movement, jewels, tourbillons, saphire crystals and how many meters can it handle (no I don't dive) all the things that make it the mechanical beast that it is. I preffer my GPS for the rest.
All of my day to day (work time) ones are quartz, but I don't even own a sigle digital one. But thats all just my bag, the real reason for the post is probably the best watch source online..............................

www.jomashop.com

if you see a watch cheaper somewhere else I would be SHOCKED, not G-Shocked, just shocked. They carry a wide range, I have purchased high end from them and been very pleased. Let me know if you do really.

Bottom line is that you have to have a work and dress watch. You cant be rocking a G-Shock with a suit. So think bout that as well.

Why do Tag watches "rule"? Because they rip off other more expensive watch designs and build them to a cheaper quality?

Right that is why :ack:

What are these other brands they are ripping off ?

-The foremost leader in almost all motorsports timing, as well as a stong presence in other sports timing.

-Decent product range for price and performance 1/10 to 1/1000 acuracy on thier watches. From quartz to automatic

-The new 36 Calibre in the grand carrara ???? first mechanical automatic chronograph able to measure and display 1/10th of a second.

-Oh and lets not forget Steve McQueen

who are they copying again ?

Actually, a better comparison would be the Omega Seamaster 007 and the copy-cat Tag:

Same color, same cut on the bezel, same camel hoof on the 12 o'Clock.....

I could keep posting, but I think I've made my point.

It's fine if you can't afford one of these watches. They're a lot of money. But damn, don't buy a knock off.

I agree a 100 percent, get something genuine within the budget, if it doesnt allow an expensive watch purchase at the time versus a fake Rolex, Omega, etc etc. Goes along the same line of thinking that a 300 Chrysler looks like a Phantom, hmm thats until a Phantom pulls up next to you. Buahahaha.

sub dials are not even in the same location,

so every watch with 3 sub dials and tachyometer is a OMEGA knock off

maybe the date indicator is the "clone" give away

OMEGA are GREAT watches no question, to bad TAG is copying all thier stuff,
hey one of my movados has a two tone band, bastards they copied omega too!

so in the end, I mentioned in my first post what whtches are to me and they are obviously something different to you, cheers, maybe one day I will be able to show you my favorite OMEGA knock off over a beer.

I just hope i'm not wearing my knock off blue jeans of your blue jeans

yea i used to have an omega seamaster. loved that watch. showered in it, swam in it, everything in it. bought it in high school with my saved cash. dropped like $1200 on it in the end.

was playing basketball at my parents house a couple years later. set my watch & coat on my moms car. ran down a hill to grab the ball that rolled away. when i got back she was gone. so watch my watch.

i went to the road and found the coat, but no watch. someone already snagged it!!! i was fuckin pissed that day...! lesson learned, don't buy a rolex unless you really need it or your retired. cause when you lose it/break it you'll be sorry.

The Monaco, the Carrera, the Monza - All great T.H. designs! I wouldn't call them knock-offs!

Watchmakers like A.P., J.C., and even Rolex "copied" the tank design Cartier made famous. I have an early 50's Omega Seamaster "Bumper" wind mechanical that owes it's case design to earlier watches - I would never call this watch a knock-off!

Check out Lum-Tec watches. They're designed and assembled in the US but many do have Asian Movements. Their b1 Combat Watch is great looking and has a nice large face. (Reminds you of the older Omega Railmasters in size.) http://www.lum-tec.com

You want an accurate watch get a Casio or some kind of Turbullon Movement($$$$$$). You want a show piece? Buy a O. Paneri.
