I am thinkint about this, the price is roughly USD300 here in HK, was looking at a makita earlier, but the price is pretty much double.

So how are milwaukee's tools? Are they good or not?

I have one of the Milwaukee combo M18 combo kits, with a drill and an impact driver.

I like them and the ones we use at work get beat on pretty hard. They're still plugging along.

Used to use one of the very first lith Milwaukee's when installing garage doors and liked them quiet a bit - also had a Sawzall on the truck and want to get one of my own now. Great tools

i have a dewalt model, solely based on the fact that I have other dewalt tools so I am invested in their batteries. It does most of what I need it to do, it chokes trying to untorque lugnuts but just about anything will after a tire shop over torques them.

most recently I got the ridgid jobmax multitool. got the ratchet head, this is nice, a ratchet is different than the impact. http://www.ridgid.com/Tools/R82234-Kit/en/index.htm

A friend has had the Dewalt full set and 5 batteries for a while. Grinder/Cutoff Tool, Sawzall, Drill, Impact, and Saw. We take it off road, work on stuff in the dark, use it everywhere, and it has never let us down. If I am not mistaken, he found it on special at Lowe's at some point.

I got the sawzall, impact, light and drill kit. They guys used the impact all day everyday for 20 months till it burned up. That would work out to about 30 years for someone using it on their own truck.

We used all Dewalt when I was a commercial plumber (only 2 years in college), we put them through hell and they did great.

I own a set of Porter Cable power tools and they haven't given me any trouble and I use them frequently. Black Friday special

I use the Snap on 3/8 compact in the shop and Dewalt 3/8 at work, both are very good and am happy either way. One of the guys I work with has the Makita with lithium and the actually kinda sucks, don't like how it just stops working when the battery says so with no warning. I really like the compact size to squeeze in areas most dont reach. Not sure about 3/4" but never really heard anything bad about milwakee. I have gone cheap and you definately get what you pay for. The nice thing about the Dewalt is the battery accessability.

Milwaukee just opened up a shop here for a few months, and their price is right comparing to Hilti, Makita, etc.
And I don't see Dewalt offer any cordless impact here, so I will be getting the Milwaukee soon.

This purchase is for getting the work done on the suspension of a BMW E39, I need to replace all the arms and shocks soon. Should had it done for months, but just too damn lazy for doing it when I only had hand tools.
So with the torque of 525 ft-lbs. It should be enough to break-up the nuts and bolts, correct?
The sale person I talked to, he said it should have no trouble for bolts size up to 28mm.
And they will be coming up with a ratchet as well, so I guess this can be a system worth building up on to.

Milwaukee is one of the best. They offer a wide range for assembly and maintenance applications. In this respect, they are similar to Snap-On, Panasonic, and what used to be Porter Cable.

You can safely buy Milwaukee and be happy.

I have many of them - switched from Panasonic to Red Rockets a little while back. I use the bigger battery packs (the extended or something? Lithium Ion)

I have in 18V a couple drills, impact for screws/small stuff, couple saws, the heavy duty 1/2 inch drive impact *it's AWESOME*, small vacuum cleaner & in 12V a right angle drill/driver, small drill driver and a small impact.

Love them so far and I hammer on them daily.

Kind of surprise to see so many first hand experience on it.
I will be getting it with the bigger battery pack, which is just a little more than the normal one, roughly 85 bucks.
