well there is a version of that here in M'burg. some billionaire has a mansion and every year after the Fall Gold Cup races he has a huge party at his place. all the Georgetown sluts come in for this one. girls making out, dudes in madris pants and pink shirts and lots of douchbags from Capital Hill.

maybe i can get you can Danny in this year. not sure if i can get myself in, but i think so. but you need to bring a blazer and a captains hat. oh and a belt with your horses name engraved on it.

Well, got the pants but I don't have any pink shirts, only "salmon"...

Rovercanus usually goes on trail-rides with a blazer and captain's hat so that shouldn't be a problem!

Awww Greg, is that your daughter?! Yeah for her!

My niece Devon has finally gotten excited about riding...I let her walk around on Guinness one day and now she is taking lessons (um, on school ponies not my horse!). She's 11 and she is as tall as me already!

Hey Garrett--I finally got the registration papers from Ness's previous owner and found out:

1. He is 19, not 12 like she "thought"! I was betting on at least 15, by his teeth. lol

2. He has a registered farm name but they decided to call him Guinness.

It's fun to finally have his pedigree/farm information at least.

Yes, that's my 10 year old daughter (however not her horse-I just grabbed a photo from-it's her teacher's).

That's great your niece is interested in riding. Does she have friends who also ride?

I have to admit, I enjoy watching Natalie's progress.

well just about any breed can be quite expensive. i have 6-8 outside my window (that i DON'T own) that are worth from $75-200K+ each. most of them are Rolex competitors. those are TBs and Warmbloods, but even QHs can get up there in value. then again that's like comparing NASCAR to F1. ;) it's just really insane these 20 year old girls have a net worth that far exceeds mine. add their rigs into the mix and it gets ugly. bitches!

cool that you got the pedigree info. always nice to have that stuff and fun to track them back a few generations. hell with the TBs you can go back to the 1300s. fun too. makes me want to go out and get another one. haha

TBs are so easy to tell their age. just peel their lip back and have a look at the last letter. that coorisponds to the last number in the year they were born. done.

now i am all about Burrows. this guy is in the pasture next to our kidos.

cute horses in the above pics though. the one your daughter is on Greg appears to be a TB.

You know Mules are fun too...you can even do show jumping with them!!

We had a Jenny Mule for a year or so when I was younger...that thing was mean and stubborn. Donkeys/Burrows are just cute.

Since Ness was purchased when he was 2, and was gelded shortly before that time...he's not really worth much. But I'm learning a lot about Morgans and apparently Hollybrook Farm has put out some great studs.

I'm honestly not sure I'll ever get another TB after him...he's just so smart it's refreshing! Though, there are smart TBs out there I just haven't owned one!

I have to admit, I enjoy watching Natalie's progress.

She decided literally overnight that she wanted to learn. She suddenly got serious and started asking questions and listening to the answers. Before this year, she just thought they were fun and cute! She went home and typed a list of all the equipment she would need for a horse and she started calling local places that offer lessons and boarding. I was flabbergasted b/c she didn't act that interested at first! She's found a nice lesson barn near C'ville where some other kids her age are riding as well which is perfect. She's also plays softball and basketball, and is involved in competition cheerleading and Girl Scouts...so she's a busy kid!

I've enjoyed watching some young kids I know learn and progress. It's been so long that I forgot what it was like to feel unstable and not to just know (with your body and not your brain) what to do. I've helped coach and judge for the United States Pony Club for years and it's the beginners that are always the most fun!

I was thinking the same thing. The light build and the legs always give them away! She's got a pretty harsh bit on him though!! :p
