What's wrong with the search? It's part of vbulletin and works pretty much the same on every VB site on the 'net.

FWIW, if you want to search using Google, go to google.com and prefix 'site:discoweb.org' to your search query.

Like this: site:discoweb.org catchers mitt

I haven't checked here lately, so it might have been altered, but there's always been one thing that's bugged the immortal hell out of me when searching:

Character requirements.

Quite a few acronyms and initialisms are present in the world of vehicles. ARB, RRC, and things of that nature. The problem, however, occurs when attempting to isolate threads or ensure you find every last one of them.

D2, for example, wasn't previously accepted. That's annoying, because people like to type D2 instead of DII or Discovery II; the latter of which would still trip certain search features.

It was the three or four character requirement that was the problem. I'm not sure what it's set to now. I'm going to take a nap instead of checking.

Cheers,

Kennith

I just did some checking. As an example, ABS yields good search results, especially if you select Search Titles Only. D2 still shows as too short. I'm not sure there's a good way around that, though.

The problem with allowing two-character search words is that it increases the size of the database tremendously. Database size is the biggest limitation we face in making this site run fast and scale.

A couple of days ago, I got a hand-addressed envelope from Washington. I was like, who the hell in Washington is sending me anything. It could be ricin.

So after my wife opened the letter, I found the stickers. Thanks!

Going on the truck after the current snowpocolypse blows over.

Its great to see traffic building back up-I definitely think a lot has to do with the website changes.
Would be good to keep building in the LR3/LR4 arena as a logical companion to the Disco 1 & 2 line; there is a whole new realm of cheapfucks that will be buying those looking for why their HDC doesn't work as well as how to fit 33's under them and such.
Ray, sometimes it is still the same realm of cheapfucks, but 15 years older.

The owners of D90 Source just went back on their promise not to show ads to pre-buyout users. Mobile users are now forced to a shitty mobile-formatted page that shows ads regardless of your status/registration date.

DiscoWeb, however, is still completely ad-free. We don't use any tracking cookies at all and never will.

You can turn it off but you have to actually take the time to figure out how. I personally hate mobile sites for everything. I don't like reduced functionality and I hate the idea that companies decide what is most important to my surfing experience. I loath sneaky advertisements or auto play videos.

I'm moving us off of the Cloudflare CDN and back to self-hosted. Cloudflare had issues from time to time and I don't think it made things any faster for us. The change will take effect over the next few hours.

Well shit. I haven't logged in forever. Great to see so many old timers still around. And Chris, I think I met you at a rally back in the day. Didn't you used to work for that goat company in UT? Nice work man, thanks for this.

Anyhoo, stopping by to say hi. I still have my Rover. She's awaiting a new alternator. Again. Are we allowed to say the word tranny yet? ;)

Cheers everyone.

m3dragon has been banned for spamming stupid Ford Raptor content that he's also blanket-posted on every other truck website he can find. Go pump your stupid website and lame trips somewhere else.
