Well, then you'd be wrong again.
But hey, by all means, keep thinking.

As for the light being "blocked".
I've been driving my DD D1 for several months with this bumper:

View attachment 35434

And it has no discernable effect whatsoever on the light beam thrown.
Try it yourself, turn on your lights and then put a tube a few inches away from it, across it like in the picture.
It has very little effect, if any, on the beam thrown.

LMAO!!

Dude, you're blinded by your own stupidity here. You're blocking the lights. Its really that simple.

You can claim all day long that the bars do not interfere with the light effects. I don't care if you turn blue in the face trying to defend this. You're wrong. Maybe you do not notice it now, but if you remove the bars you will indeed see a difference. You are just used to the lighting by now.

The head lamps on a D1 suck shit anyway. Even on high-beam, they suck shit. Blocking part of that light output is a horrible idea. I told you this several weeks ago, yet you still think it's a great idea. So great, you incorporated this hideous "feature" into your RRC monstrosity.

Regardless of everything else, it looks like shit.

Yes, It's a different look than most out there.
You guys out east seem to all want that "Camel Trophy Truck" look.
Nothing wrong with that.
This isn't it.

It's more of a desert racer/rock crawler design.
That's what I like, that's what I build.

To each their own.

Umm...no offense but... You pose your wares as such to market them... seems to me with every thread you post, you're trying to sell your creations. It would also seem to me that if you want to sell your creations, you might consider creating what the people like..??

Maybe I'm out in left field here..

Believe it or not, there are actually people out there who don't want another RTE clone.
People who feel square, flat, solid bumpers are not the only thing that is acceptable, aesthetically.

Now I, and everyone on Dweb, know there's a group of very vocal guys here who have a narrow view of what's acceptable for a Disco, and love to trash anything that doesn't meet this view.
Hey, that's cool. We're all big boys here.

I've gotten enough compliments and encouragement on the designs from people I respect in the industry.
I don't have some deep need to please everyone.

I believe people will make their own choices.

These kind of threads never fail to fascinate me. People actually seem to get upset about this stuff.
It's like they're afraid I'm going to pollute the Land Rover waters by building something different.

Oh well, we all get our kicks somehow.

there many deserts or rock crawling in your neck of the woods?

just asking? ;)
I've probably done more rock crawling in Indiana than you've done Morrocan Expeditions.

Get lots of use out of those gerry cans?

Just asking

Sorry, you did kind of tee it up for me

We don't like that in the south either. Texas says no. Maybe Cali will like it. They are more mountain/desert. Anyone out in Cali like this?

So, how many have you sold? Last time I was at RTE, he was 6-weeks behind in bumpers and he was turing one out every 3 hours. I've also been pretty "vocal" in stating that RTE does not make my favorate front bumper. So, that only goes to show that I don't have shit of an influence on what others like and buy.

But, start a thread on what bumper the people here like best; the RTE or the POS you're pimping. I bet the RTE hovers over your creation 10:1.

You can claim that you do not care what others think, and I'll continue to say bullshit - because you do care what others think. That is why you started this thread. That is why you sent me the PM you did. That is why you posted the responce you did in JSQ's RTE slider thread.

Dude, your products look like shit. You can't blame it opn the "East Coast Camel Trophy Wanna-bes". You can't blame it on the "Dweb cookie-cutter ways". It's very simple - your product looks like shit. You can either take the comments others have posted and learn from them, or you can continue make shitty looking crap. It's up to you. There is room for another bumper vendor in the Land Rover world. But the stuff you're making will never sell worth a shit.

I agree and I'm in Texas, not Virginia...and I have no RTE stuff on my truck. Work on some mock-ups, take some hits, make adjustments, and then you'll have something the masses will like.

Well I am going to come out and say I like it. I would probably change the bars around just a bit so it didnt cross the headlights so much. But I like that someone is trying something else. Yes I like the look of tube bumpers on Rovers, I absolutely LOVED the rear bumper on the North By Rover disco. It was tube.

But then again,, this is coming from the guy that bastardized a Classic (according to some here...)
