how does it have function? approach angles are good, but that is certain to happen with tube bumpers. it is going to hang up on shit alot quicker that the flat slimline bumpers. i would venture to say that is why they are popular.

Possible, I suppose.
I've never heard of it happening and people have been using pre-runner bars like this for a lot of years. All pre-runner style bars cross the lights to some degree.
How many states even have safety inspections anymore?

FYI, Va will fail you for anything blocking the lights. I think RTE makes the grills for the lights removable for that reason, but it is not universally enforced here. No one ever said squat about mine on the Jeep.

i would change a few things but i am not opposed to it. I would rather have the risors out a bit farther to protect the lights on the edges.

In Va that would not pass state inspection.

You can claim that you do not care what others think, and I'll continue to say bullshit - because you do care what others think. That is why you started this thread. That is why you sent me the PM you did. That is why you posted the responce you did in JSQ's RTE slider thread.
Dan, even you can't possibly think I post these threads looking for your input.
I put my feelings about your opinions as simply as I can here:
http://www.discoweb.org/forums/showpost.php?p=521278&postcount=35

This thread is simply a way to let people (I've had several requests for this product) know the bumper is out.

The PM you mentioned (months ago) was sent because, for some reason, you felt like taking a cheap shot at me and pulling me into a fight I had nothing to do with.
That's all.

oh no he didnt! bringing out the quotes and pulling old threads. i have to agree though. just post your opinion whether you like it or not. the thread did not say, "how can i improve this?".

just my 2 cents, but it is only worth 1!

?SERIOUSLY? I guess thats why wheels are square, circles have such a high rolling resistance.

Brad your bumper looks good. Maybe add corner protection and then tie that into the stinger to avoid blocking the headlights since that seems to be a major issue here. Clearly the members of Dweb are not your target market.

Roxtar has posted this bumper on other forums and received praise for his "out of the BOX" design. The opinions expressed here really are limited to this forum.

Nevermind the function Dan says it looks like shit so it must be a turd?

I guess it is important that RTE has pimps on this forum, otherwise how on earth could they maintain that 6 week bumper backorder.

Comparing Roxtar's sales volume to that of RTE is flat out ridiculous, were talking months of operations compared to decades. Apples to oranges.

i think without even trying, you've summed up Brads experience here quite nicely. he's here only to pimp out his crap and drum up some cash, with nothing to contibute other than selfpromotion at the expense of Discoweb.
as long as he continues to promote his stuff here, he will continue to get critized, good or bad, it's just how it is...

There's countless other threads where people are doing the very same thing yet nobody calls them out. Marc let's be fair and honest here, if it was a bulky box snowplow like another "NEW" design being pimped here and on other boards it would be receiving praise.

Maybe what you are proposing is something similar to what Pirate has? A vendor section that ALL vendors would have to post their wares in but only after obtaining a vendor membership at an inflated cost compared to the norm. Fair for Dweb and fair for the vendors.

I would never run that on the Presidential DI. It's as gay as the bars on Duval Street. But the fabrication work is to be appreciated.

Really?

Just for grins I went to my subscribed thread list:

9 threads pimpin my stuff
4 threads in classifieds
20 threads asking tech questions
16 threads misc posts
27 threads offering help to tech questions
0 threads ripping other Dweb members

What's your contribution here look like?

I don't frequent LRO so I wouldn't know, I am however a member of a very good site that shall remain anonymous to keep the content positive and free from the "wrath" of some of the questionable folks at Dweb. Let's just say if you were wanted there you would have been invited.

As far as being "done with Dweb" I post where I choose when I choose to do so, I have offered a decent amount of tech and some rather forward thinking ideas I have chose not to share here for the simple fact that I don't need to deal with your low blows. But I do still occasionally come here for a laugh.

So yes Dan Roxtar has received praise for his design from members of this forum as well as members of others that likely choose not to post said opinions here to avoid being blindsided by your attacks.

I bet it is Blacklistedrovers.

No particular offense to Brad and RG, to each his/her own.
Rob, will you please post the photo of your D1 bumper?

Way off tiger. I am not familiar with Blacklistedrovers.com.

I agree with the "to each his or her own" statement and that is the very basis of my argument.

You mean the one I was able to stuff a husky 10 into, while having it stick out only 4 inches? or the one that I wrecked before I could finish. Never mind they are the same.

I used to have a creative director who would literally laugh aloud and parade my copywriter's and my work around the office telling people how much it sucked. He didn't like people wasting his time by bringing sub-standard or incomplete creative work to him for approval. If you wanted to "wow" him and get your work produced it BETTER be complete, well thought out, and solve a problem in a new and "creative" way! This came from late nights and a shit load of coffee and thumbnails! I guess what I'm trying to say with this little story is that while you have a nice start here with your bumper and I applaud you for your START you've got a ways to go yet before it can get "produced". Keep working, keep asking for GOOD and INSIGHTFUL critique, (not "your shit sucks dude"), and you'll have a bad -ass bumper! When you think you have a good idea - remember it, sketch it out and then look for an even better idea!

Another little "heart-warming" story from the world of advertising: I once met the art director who came up with the Altoids print work. He told me that many people would tell him that everything had been done before. He would tell them that everything MAY have been done before but everything hadn't been done by HIM yet. Kind of cool way to look at stuff if you ask me!
