Go wheeling all you want, but there is one thing in the city that's worth doing.

Go to that restaurant at Excalibur. The food is good, and you get to eat while watching a bunch of people in armor beating the shit out of each other.

Cheers,

Hertz Prestige Collection.... is gansta.. ya gots to get with it bro..Enterprise was the 1990's..

(chuckles)

Screw Hertz, used to rent from them a while back on work trips, but switched to Enterprise. We got accounts with both and Enterprise has been way more pleasant to deal with all over the U.S. They are also better at giving free upgrades than Hertz. The latter is also more expensive as far as daily rates go.

Im going to vegas January 7-10th. Not interested in doing anything outside of drinking/gambling/sin...what are the best casinos/strip clubs/clubs? We are going to the Beatles Love show and were looking for a good place to eat dinner before/after...something fancy but trying to keep it 100-120 a couple (minus drinks). What is some shit we gotta see when we are there? I am pretty sure we are gonna stay at the MGM Grand unless we decide on something else.

Is there like a half day trip to the hoover dam or the grand canyon? This is one thing we all said we wanted to do if we could. I don't want spend a whole day on it. There are about 10 of us in the group going, girls and guys but this will pretty much be a what happens in vegas stays in vegas trip.

Hoover tour is cool, not sure now long it is though. Grand canyon would be a full day trip. Strip clubs?? So many strip clubs hard to say which ones are the best. As for eats...same thing plenty of good steak houses, seafood places etc...MGM has pleny in side their casino as well as most of the other casinos. Gambling...best odds are gonna be downtown, kinda shifty down there but it's fun times. Clubs? Don't really know, but being Vegas I know quite a few people that work in clubs could prob get you on a list somewhere, but I don't like 12$ beers or 400$ bottles of vodka.

Since when does Enterprise rent FJs, Hummers, Navigators, 300ZXs and yes, LR3s?
Hertz prestige locations have rented me all the above.

I think I rented a Ford fuck-us from Enterprise last.

Against my better judgment, I decided to fly into Boston and rent a car instead of simply driving there, which is what I normally do.

Being on that shuttle bus, listening to big brother tell me how to do everything along the way, and being poured out into a rude, confusing situation at the Hertz corral is perhaps the most uncomfortable I've ever been in my life.

And, let me tell you, I've been in some seriously shitty and uncomfortable situations. That little Hertz venture, for me, was a little piece of hell. Never again.

I did, however, have a hell of a time with the flight attendants on the way back.:D

Cheers,

discopedro- We are staying at the MGM grand. Planning on coming in Thursday around mid-day and possibly doing the trail/wheeling outside Vegas stuff Friday. Let me know if you could do that?

gmooker- Great pics. Looks like you guys had a good time. I'd love to bring my bike with me and ride this westcoast stuff. If I'm gonna wheel a little like you were, where would you go for that half day wheeling trip kinda like whats in your pics? I don't care about going all out wheeling just wanna see whats out there for one day.

Kennith- As always look forwards to your responses. I figured you have been everywhere and would chime in. I think I went to a thing like excaliber at Myrtle Beach and watched those guys beat on each other. My sister lives in Boston and her fiance should be a tour guide. I had a hell of a time in Little Italy. Hiked on Mt. Monadnock??, kayaked off the coast of Rock Port, did the Duck tours, and had a $7.00 happy hour beer at Cheers.

I hear you, we're not the club type folks either, but hey its vegas. We wanted to at least see what its all about. Hell yeah, let me know if you can get us on a list for sure, I would take you up on that. Definitely going to take you up on the advice of the fountains at night as well. I am really looking forward to it!

mulisha, let me know how the MGM grand is...thats most likely where we will be staying, most everyone else in our group is staying there we are just deciding if we want to do something different or not.

Sorry Friday is a no go, pm me and I could point you to a couple decent spots depending on what you want to do.

I'll let you know my plans and shoot you a PM if I get to do some off-road stuff. The way things are going I'm gonna have a 60-70 mile fight through the snow to Raleigh. Flight got canceled and bumped to 9:00 pm so we took a 6:00 in the morning flight instead. I'll be in Vegas around 10am.

I told my gf we're gonna go get some dumb shit and say it was handed down to us and try to pawn it.

Any suggestions on how to keep or make money in a casino while I'm there? I've played hours upon hours online holdem and made a few dollars years back. How do I get the free drinks?

Went to Vegas two years ago or so for the first time, stayed at Luxor IIRC. Anyway, just sitting by where the waitresses came out with drinks and playing the one arm bandits got us free drinks. Dont think they were super strong, but free nevertheless. Didnt make it to the tables, drinking out in town got in the way...

I've rented 4x4 durangos from enterprise; hertz and avis regularly have Wranglers around here. Even Enterprise gave me a 4x4 Cherokee when MY SEBRING was in for service. Hard to not rent a convertible or wrangler in Hawaii.

You own a sebring?

$5 Filet dinners & $1 micros @ Ellis Island on Koval. The filet special isn't on the menu, but just go in the restaurant & order it. (NOTE: restaurant ONLY. NOT the Lounge, NOT the BBQ place) Beers are only $1 if you order them @ the bar & take them with you into the restaurant.

It isn't 5-star dining, but it is a great deal. You'd spend $40 to get the same food & drink at any other restaurant that you can get for $8 @ Ellis Island. It can't be that bad--the locals go there.
