Going to Vegas. What to do?

There was a few convience stores ect to buy beer, liquor, ect close to mgm. If your standing at mgm and looking across at New York turn right and it was about a quarter mile down or so on your right. I think its a Denny's somewhere in there also.
Walk through the casino to get to where you walk out and New York is straight across then turn right to get your low priced beer ect. Don't go to Hooters Casino to eat or gamble. Place was a shit hole and food was terrible.

BUY THE DAMN BUS TICKETS TO LEAVE THE AIRPORT. I think 3 days is $24 a person. Ride from airport to mgm was $12 in a cab and its one of the closest casinos to the airport. My feet hurt like hell from walking all over the place. First thing I would do is get on the strip bus and ride it back and forth once or twice and look at what all is out there then start your trip.

If you wanna drink for cheap just goto cortez downtown and sit at the roulette table. Order the drinks from the 50 year old lolita's until they look 20. Leave promptly. I had $10 or so on the table with $.25 chips and $1 min bet I got 6 drinks in and looked like a whale with all those chips. Left with a good buzz and $16 I think including tipping my newfound 20 year old friend. Get outta downtown before sunset. Bus ride there from the strip.

I drank a lot at mgm casino also but its $5 min bet at the roulette tables so you gotta get lucky to keep drinkin. There was some bs horse game in mgm with people sitting all around betting $.25 a race on horses about every 3 minutes that were drunk as hell and waitress' were coming by quite often. Find that game for some good cheap fun. Its a old game with a glass cover with seats all around it with mechanical horses that race back and forth for one lap. Cheapest way to drink at mgm was this.

Key is in the casino when your playing and you here the "Drinks" from the waitress, speak up and order right then and there. Throw her a dollar every drink she brings and she'll come back every 15 minutes. I only bought two drinks at a bar with the mgm beverage credit of $15 and it was $20 for two drinks so watch that credit. If you brought beer back to your room and kept it cold you could stay in the casino and drink and go back to the room and grab more beers if you wanted to. Plenty of people will be carrying beer ect throughout the casino and up and down the strip.

Get as many of the hooker trading cards as you can when they pop them at you. Its fun.

Have fun.

Thanks for all the info yall. So I can buy that bus pass at the airport? Does it have a name? I assume it's like those ones in NYC that has a bunch that circulate and you can hop on them at anytime?

I'm not sure on the bus name but its the local vegas transit ect. I know they just made a new route that includes the airport as of Dec.

There is 3 routes I think. One to the airport and locals employment stops to the out skirts that will bring you to the strip. Strip to downtown via the express I think, and one that is just the strip that stops every damn 50 yards it seems like. I avoided that one. We took the express everytime once we bought the tickets. Buses come pretty often so I rarely waited more than 5-10 minutes at a stop.

Bus pass worked as follows. Buy the 3 day pass and get on off ect for 3 days no matter what bus or stop you were at. Your better off getting it from the get go than to get a cab and thats half of what the bus ticket cost. At most bus stops there was a really knowledgable employee that could answer any bus related "what bus to get on" questions.

I found no casino shuttles that were free. About the same cost as a cab and had to wait till the shuttle got full. Have fun!

First of all, I spent waaayyyyyy tooo much money. Second, it was worth it.

We stayed at the imperial palace the first nice since the CES and AVAs were in town rates were ridiculous and this was the only place I could get reasonable. It was a place to sleep but the shower was clogged so you took a shower in 5 inches of water. Hash house a go go paid by my winnings at 3 am was solid. Went to the MGM and stayed in the west wing on saturday and sunday...much nicer place. Tables were a lot higher here and went from 5-10 dollar black jack to 25 at night which sucked. Our group did a bottle service at The Bank in the Bellagio on Saturday night, complete with a waitor and slutty waitress, and your own bouncer and a by pass by all of the suckers waiting in line...this was by far the coolest thing we did. Sunday we did The Beatles: Love show at the mirage and dinner at Tao since Lavo screwed us on our reservation. Monday went and saw my Auburn Tigers win the national championship.

My flight was cancelled into ATL so we stayed another night at the Mirage and wednesday, which was my birthday, spent about 13 hours and 4 flights getting back to ATL then a 2 hour drive to Auburn in a ice covered ATL.

Overall great trip. Saw the Pawn stars which was cool, but got really tired of all the porno cards that got passed to you on the strip.

Haha yeah man. I will definitely be back if I can ever save up enough money! Honestly while on the strip you'd never guess how bad that city is hurting from the economy
