2000 miles in the Pig in 5 days. Kentucky, West Virginia, and parts of PA were beautful with the changing fall foliage.
Yep, MAR was a bust. Felt bad for the ROAV folks because they work hard to make this happen every year. I liked the one new trail this year that came off the island, through some water, up a hill, and through some narrow sections. Too bad the log bridge came apart
That ould have been cool to hang out and rebuild one. Dan Chapman and St. Louis Todd rode with me in the Pig on Thursday night. The trails were dry and we walked through everything. But due to the monsoon, I didn't go back out.
My family and I only lasted from Thursday morning through Friday morning; then we bailed to Maryland to stay with family. I was bummed out big time, My daughter was hating life in all the rain; but my wife maintained a great attitude.
Regarding the gentleman in the D2 with the front PS wheel completely sheared off: I have never ever seen that happen on a D2 before. But then again, I have never seen anyone besides Greg Davis try running tires that were so big and so heavy before. In my opinon the D2 is just not ment to be "monster garaged" But each person has different views on things. I'll stick to my little 32" MTRs and 12K winch.
I would love to see ROAV run MAR in March or even November. Cold nights, cooler days, and less rain would be awesome. Remember, it's not just the litle bit of trails that brings people out, it's the socialization that makes MAR a great event.
Cheers.
