How many of you have no CEL anymore?

After many frustrating month, and replaced spark plug, wires, fuel pump, fuel filter, air filter, stepper motor, vacuum hoses, valve job, VSS, MAF sensor and I few other things I can't recall off the top of my head to try to solve the P1313 and P1314 code - I decided to pull the CEL bulb.

The engine runs perfect, never stalls, has TONS more power then when I bought it 5 years ago. You would never know the thing had any problems except for the blinking light on occasion. After spending WAY too much money and many frustrating hours, I decided that ignorance is bliss. At this point, I'm not replacing a thing unless I see a connecting rod out the side of the block.

I was just curious how many others have jumped on the same bandwagon.

if the light is blinking and you have code 1313 and 1314you are melting your cats..
and if you keep driving it that way you more than likely want have to worry about any of the lights anymore because your truck will be toast.

One day I'll entertain us all by pulling my codes..

My engine ECU only has one live code: Rough Road Signal Implausable, Lack of SLABS input

My SLABS ECU registered EVERY SINGLE CODE that testbook had for it :applause: :smilelol:

That's ridiculous. You need to go buy a fire extinguisher, like, yesterday.

Chances are good she's programmed for EAS and you have coils...

why we carry fire extinguishers..

Indeed. Mine is right next to the beer opener. I'll grab it, open a beer, and watch this shitbox burn.

I have coils and the truck was originally SLS. The pump assembaly is gone, the height sensors are gone, all ABS lines are disconnected, wires at the ABS pump are disconnected, and the fuses are pulled too. MY SLABS ECU hates its life

if the bulb is gone, and your CEL is technically blinking, you'l lknow anyway by the crappy way it runs. my CEL is burned out actually, and was on since birth practicly. it used to be o2 sensor codes, and ocassional misfires. (common). i won't waste the money on o2;s because performance never suffered. i can tell when an engine isnt firing. i keep it in tip top shape and get the same performance as when it was new. f$#% the CEL

BaldEagle, I agree with you, screw the CEL. I need more substance than a blinking light for me to throw any more money at it. I've been driving this thing for 6 months with that thing blinking at me on occasion, spent literally thousands of dollars trying to fix it at the dealer/local rover mechanic with no luck. All they do is keep on trying to throw parts at it.

If the thing starts to burn, I think I'll forgo the extinguisher and give it a prayer instead.
