Just got an email from Ineos:

We wanted you to be among the first to know – we’re going to reveal the Grenadier launch specification, pricing and planned sales and servicing coverage on May 17th.

So, from that day, you’ll be able to visit our website and explore all the Grenadier features, options, and accessories you need, as well as a map of where you can expect to buy and service a Grenadier.

Then, approximately two weeks later, we’ll begin taking pre-orders, giving priority to Grenadier reservation holders.

So, not long to go now. In the meantime, if you have any questions, do get in touch.

I really want to see one with bigger tires and a bit of lift.
This guy added tires that are just about 33's before taking delivery on a facebook group. He reports no rubbing issues. The rims are also 1" wider than stock, not sure what that means for mounted and aired up sizing of the tires (slightly taller or less tall than 33") as rim sizes can play into that.

Here are the tire and wheel specs he posted:
285 70 17
17x7.5
130x84.1
Offset 40

Looks a hell of a lot better. I hate that the standard offerings are vanilla Bridgestone ATs or BFG ATs. This isn't just Ineos either, all trucks for sale think that offering BFG ATs is like offering some kind of monster off road tire. Blah. They should offer the truck with 4 (not 5) cheap-fuck chinese tires that are just enough to keep the Grenadier mobile so it can get on the boat & off the boat and be moved around as needed until you take delivery and put some real tires on it.

Yep, if i do go forward with my purchase, which is getting to be less and less likely, I would spec the basic bridgestone tires and immediately remove them and try to sell them and put on someting better (most likely Goodyear Dura-Trac's). I would not want BFG AT's in any size.

My driving day near Chicago is next week, we'll see how it goes.

You'll enjoy the drive - it is a very nice truck. I think they just lost me at the lack of an instrument cluster. My wife's Merc Benz SUV drives me nuts because you have to always be looking at the ipad in the middle...and she still has a normal instrument cluster! I can't imagine having to look to the middle ipad all the time for all info. I rented a Tesla once and it was a great novelty with the crazy acceleration and the lack of a cluster didn't matter because it was just a joyride for a couple days. I do remember first sitting down in the Tesla at Long Beach airport and getting ready to roll and looking at the naked dash behind the wheel and thinking "well this is gay." I don't think I could adopt a new truck as my own if I think it's gay every time I get into it. Especially if it's pushing $80K.

Easy - Scangauge II mounted just in front of your steering wheel - set to display the three data points that matter most to you.

Seriously, aside from D1/RRC ownership and having to vigilantly watch every dial, I generally do not look at the cluster much at all. Even in my manual 2003 VW Tdi I drive my feel and sound, so the Grenadier would probably only have the map displayed.

Really nice drive. I hope the pricing and forced-packages are not a deal-breakers.

Hah, yeah, that is goofy. You could mount a spare large phone or small tablet up there to display your MPH. With bluetooth OBD2 you could do more. But that is silly.

I am not sure if it will bother me. I always have my phone mounted over there anyway with directions and stuff and over time have tended to look at the MPH on the phone compared to the displayed speed limit.

80k and no base model will bother me. Frankly, I don't even think I would pop for lockers. If I want to do any more serious off roading, I take my RZR anyway. I think we talked earlier on this thread about my Sequoia which you hate the looks of. Fair enough, but it is just so damn versatile for MY use case that I would lose key features with the Ineos (seating for 8 when needed, large cargo size when needed, 400HP for towing - not sure if this will be noticeable). The Ineos gains would be good - persumably more MPG / overall range & cool factor, but not sure enough to outweigh the losses.

It would be awesome if I could get my wife to want it and have both. But she loves her 2-door coupe, so that ain't happening. I tried.

This guy made a pretty cool video comparing his old Defender to the Grenadier. I like his conclusion.

I had already thought of 3-D printing a "cluster pod" for the ineos and dropping in some simple analog gauges (tach and speedo). Throw it up on the market as soon as people start taking delivery.

OK, perhaps I'm overreacting a bit....doesn't look too bad. The speedo display wasn't working on my test drive and we were offroad anyway so I wasn't looking at the ipad.

I don't hate the Toyotas, I just don't feel the love. Wish I did as they are superior vehicles.

Another minus for me on the Ineos is the rear cargo area with the seats that don't fold flat. I slept in the back of my LR4 on Sunday night out in the desert. I'd really miss the ability to fold everything flat and just lay down. I was researching the new Defender 130 that's coming out and I was thinking that this could be the one for me with that huge ass end. Then I was surprised to find that the 130 will have less cargo volume than the LR4 (80.9 ft3 compared to 90.3 ft3). The Ineos drops anther 10 to 71.8 ft3.

Lol! Yes no doubt for sure keep an eye on them especially the temp gage when driving either one although more so on the D1. Yet was taught as a yewt watch the gages when you’re driving so basically out of habit watch gages when driving any of my vehicles.

I love the LR4. Loved the looks of it and loved the way it drives when I was contemplating one a few years back. It was one of the cars I looked at when shopping for the Sequioa. At that time we were in full family truckster vacation mode and a key decision factor was third row seat comfort. It lost on that. I really wanted the last model year of the V8.

I hadn't actually checked the numbers on cargo capacity, ugh. I put the second and third row seats down in my Sequoia yesterday and fit the entire contents of my daughters dorm room in the 120 cubic feet of storage with a little room to spare. This is not going to work out for me as a replacement. I could realistically replace any other car in the family, but my wife doesn't want it and I am sure as hell not putting my kids in a brand new Greadier to drive to their summer jobs or back and forth from school. I think only one kid can drive the Sequoia daily without banging into shit due to its size.

I don't want to spend that kind of a scratch on another toy. If it were just for fun, I actualy think the Bronco makes more sense.

I will take the free test drive next week, though. Will report back. If the heart ends it wanting it, the heart wants what the heart wants and sometimes the silly brain just follows.
