they should fit fine. after a few good stuffs the tires should smooth the sheet metal to exactly where you need it. did tf send some prototype 6" bump stops for that truck?

6" bump stops on TF shocks, 3" lift and 33's? Hell I'll be surprised if that thing has bump stops

i was joking. with 6" bumps, justin won't have to worry about touching sheet metal. it's all about the down travel. personally (and I'm not joking) i would rock those 20's. 33/12.50x20's all day long for $413.64 ea.

Project update

It was a fun weekend at the shop test fitting multiple combinations of springs to achieve a lift large enough lift to fit the new tires.

photo-3-4.jpg

The end result was a 5-inch lift over standard ride height.

Believe it or not the tires only measure out to 32.5s on the truck at 30 psi.

To fit the 33's we will have to trim but for now I'm going to live with it and see what real-world ill side effects occur.

We took it through this tiny little mud puddle and as you can see the truck behaves fine and even shows promise of a little bit of flex.

You'll notice on this little dirt hill the front comes down and absorbs the bump without any issues but the rear looks like it wants to bounce I think that the rear shocks need to be valved better to handle the extra height and soon weight.

Tires rub a little ;)

and the Poser shot with the new lift and tires.

When is all this stuff going to be available for general public purchase? I am going to be picking up a P38 in the next couple weeks and would like to get the lift components you used above as I plan on running 32/33s. Is there any possibility of utilizing the factory air suspension to achieve lift or do I pretty much need to go with coils?

If you could swap all the electronics over to a DII and simplify the whole thing I would build one. I like everything except the sound of a Huey going down everytime you get in and start it up.

Never thought about it like that, but I guess you're right...

denny, you can almost definitely shove an emissions (640) D2 ecu in the P38, do a security reset but the bcu will not give the proper switching signal for ignition. the P38 has more modules than a D2, but i bet money the right tuner could get the coding for the P38's bcu and write an algorithm to work with a D2 ecu. the only circuit that would need addressed is the security circuit, write the code so the high to low or low to high signal is fed to the ecu, to fire, then the regular functions (of the P38 bcu) would perform fine i.e. windows, sunroof, wipers, etc.
btw, the package is in route.
