Don't worry about us, we got out compounds in the mountains! ;)
quick disclaimer:
We don't actually have compounds in the mountains, they're more like yurts.

I had to add that because there are so many misconceptions about those less familiar with the LDS church and I dont want to perpetuate an image based on half truths that others may assume are fact.

When you guys take over, what happens to the LDS?

Well Stroud, I did not really want to go there, but I can tell you the policy as it sits now: No good Texans ever blamed a man for believing in something different than himself. For that matter I know guys who pray to cactus, marshmellow, & round rocks. The Mormons and all other relegions are welcome to stay.

The only requirement is that everybody over 21 without substance abuse issues MUST drink beer. They do not have to drink it all the time or every day...just drink it.

They also must accept the new state name. Once the flag flies at the capitol the new name will be Uppa Uppa Texas. The current state of Texas will be called Lowa Texas.

Another big change will be a law stating that anything called a "BBQ" must serve brisket and/or ribs. No exception. If you plan to cook burgers & hot dogs and invite some friends you cannot use the name BBQ. It will be copyrighted and licensed as a state property with the stiffest of penalties for breaking this law.

The one I see that may have the biggest trouble is the last one, but if anyone resists we will just send them to New Mexico.

Make it happen guys and I just may move back there. But only if Bar X is still open. That was my hole in the wall. For the record I never found a lack of willing drinkers out there. So bring on the brisket, beer, and bigamy. ;) The revolution will not be televised.

Afterword: No Mormons were harmed during the liberation of Uppa Uppa Texas.

DAMN, I think that is so cool that he can fit his tongue in his nose ring - he should feel so proud of that talent!

Curtis your plan sounds good but instead of sending them to New Mexico I would send them a little further down to Mexico.

(I thought that was great your comment about the BBQ only being true with briskit or ribs.
So many people just don't get that).

It's great to be a TEXAN!!!!

Let freedom ring!!! Also no proper BBQ is done on a gas grill, all people will be issued a charcoal grill and a smoker.

ever seen that X-files where they go to the small town and investigate the Peacock family? Its a family of brothers all, ummm well, "breeding" with their mother whom they keep on a roll away board under her bed? That is what I imagine the offspring (which was burried in the beginning of the show) would look like.

Disturbing because it is the product of 3 brothers and their mother with no appendages mating.

Don't forget pulled pork or whole hog!

If we wanted to go on with "food" that seems to go hand and hand with Texans - we could be here awhile - we like our food. (steaks, venison, sausage (my personal fav. Chappell Hill), and we cannot leave out the side dishes of blackeye peas & potatoes and of course we don't know what the hell Pepsi is much less want to know - COKE is the word! :D
I'm sure there is many more that is associated with Texas but ...
More to the point, pork and the above are very yummy but not BBQ they are what I call "cook out food" ;)

Peter - I could not remember that episode of the X-Files but since NorCal changed his avatar it has reminded me of the X-files in general.
