At least the price is palatable. That's right about where it should be.

Cheers,

Kennith

It's ok, I think $10 an issue is a bit high. I think my CRAWL subscription was less than half that. But I figured I'd give it a shot and signed up for the first year. If I don't like it I just won't renew.

I do have one comment or feedback item. As silly as this will sound. I was really turned off by the $2 shipping charge they tacked on right at the end. Trust me it's not about the $2. I spend more than that on a cup of coffee. It's a principal thing for me. If you want a certain amount just list that amount but don't try and nickel and dime shit to get to your actual price. If it would have been $35 for the first year I probably would have still ordered it just to try it. It's the same shit at work. We have a service provider with contract fees of over $1 million and then they fucking nickel and dime us with $1,500 out of scope charges. It just drives me fucking nuts.

over there
English!!!

Last time we were together he sweet talked me into playing hide the sausage. as usual though I lost.

If English starts getting the old time philly rover style debauchery revitalized I may have to chop my gold truck up stuff some 37's under it and start wheeling again.

I checked out the site but the articles/subjects in the first issue did not interest me. I'm sure this is different but they seem like every other magazines' articles. New Land Rover vehicle review, outrageous Defender rebuild, historical expedition/offroad event, series barn find/prior ownership resurrection. For me I don't care about reviews because if I was going to consider buying one I'd test drive it myself, I hate outrageous Defender rebuilds, I've seen tons of footage of camel trophy events, and (in a Jerry Seinfeld voice) how many different ways can you rebuild a series to original spec people? There is more to Land Rover than that.

Yeah they need more light bars on $500 Discos. Maybe even a bonnet bar.

Excuse me sir, but my Disco was $2200 thank you very much. I have not one, but two light bars so my vehicle's net worth is way over your $500/ light bar estimate.

I decided to buy a subscription. Where I think there is an opportunity for this magazine to offer something new is in delivering thoughtful, in-depth, long form journalism. I canceled my LRM subscription over a year ago because there were too many short stories that didn't develop the subject in enough detail to catch my interest. Some of the places that were the settings of the articles were fascinating with opportunities to meet intriguing people, yet the stories usually just scratched the surface. The coverage usually left me wanting more.

LRM & LRO are great for the pictures, the tech articles, and for having something to hold your interest when you aren't planning to spend a long time reading (evacuating your bowels, for example). But for really exploring a subject they don't provide the depth.

By publishing quarterly and curating content more selectively I think this magazine can bring a more thoughtful and nuanced perspective on the world of Rovers. At least that's what I would expect from this approach. We'll see how it plays out. In the meantime, I still read South Africa 4x4 for the long articles about trips to places I want to go and interesting reviews of vehicles that we don't get in the US market.

LOL, shipping charges on a magazine subscription? That's a new one. Just incorporate the fucking delivery charge into the root cost. Ridiculous.

I'll have you know I paid $1200 for my most recent Disco purchase.

The most I have paid for a DI since I got my very first one. Well, I do suppose I should admit it did come with a free P38, but that's nothing new for me-LOL.

I'm off to search for a suitable light bar!
