i dont remember anyone having a problem with FDR's fireside chats....

I see nothing wrong with this, they can encourage the parents to listen in. Let the parents decide on what politics the kids learn, instead of teaching what ever political side the teacher is on.

Good grief! One 15 min speech (that no kid will probably remember 2 hours later), and you are all paranoid...

No one here seems to remember Reagan's speech followed by a Q & A that was broadcast into schools all across the nation back in 1988. Not only was the speech filled with supply side propaganda but the Q & A served as reinforcement of the party line.

You guys are really funny.

.......... And then let it be up to the PARENTS, right or left, to facilitate discussion so that we may have a wiser generation coming up behind us that as the ability to think - and then act - critically for themselves and hopefully to the betterment of all.

Fixed it for you!

I did last night...

"they are all blowing him"

I really think people are making more of this then should be. The more obama talks the more clear his meassage is and the more people are stepping from behind him to across the isle.

The discussion I had with my 11 year old 6th grade daughter really helped me see this for what it is and understand that the open discussion and ongoing dialogues about the world are what will shape her views.

Listening to Katheryn Bachman yesterday really made me feel good about whats going on right now with the Obama administration. People are waking back up to how important policy can be and reading and understanding the constitution some for the first time. In the end this will strengthen our country. It may take some time to right the wrongs like it did after Jimmy Carter but the will of the people and the frame work of our republic will win in the end.

I have read the plans, not sure if they were changed from an earlier version as someone told me. As it sits now there is no issue in my eyes.

The only difference between this and every other thing nowadays is the internet getting obese!

Got a phone message from the school district yesterday; they will provide "alternate" entertainment for our children if we'd prefer they didn't watch this.
I already talked to the kids (7th & 11th grade) about this.
Told them to listen, keep an open mind, try to learn something from it, and we'll discuss it when they get home.
I'm not worried about my kids, it's the idiot teachers that concern me.

seems while forcing my children to watch leftist propaganda, while chanting socialist communal songs, i left out a presidential initial. should read "GHWB".
(wouldn't want to riyal my conservative brethren in to another side stepping rant)

Are you catching on?

Yes, I truly believe you are the biggest douche on Dweb. I have caught on.

You won't play it in YOUR classroom because what is going to be said doesn't fall in line with YOUR political beliefs. That's it mold YOUR students in YOUR own way, Ben.

How about this for a teaching exercise......PLAY it and then let the kids debate what they thought about it. Hmmm... There's a thought. Open debate about different thoughts and views. Oh hell... That would probably be too liberal.
