NDE technician in the Kuparuk Oil Field on the North Slope of Alaska

edit: just realized most people have no idea what NDE is and when I googled the only return was "near-death experiences"...I do nondestructive examination a.k.a. NDT or nondestructive testing

Come to AK, BP will double your salary. The starting salaries for engineering students right out of school is ridiculous. Geologists must have their graduate degree, but holy shit do they like to incentivize people up here. I guess when you have billions of dollars in the bank, it's not that hard.

Assistant Director of Marine Operations for the University of Massatwoshits- Boston. I got a fleet of work/research/passenger vessels I am in charge of. My job is kind of safe for now, other UMass campuses have been laying people off. At least my department generates some revenue so that's why I feel relatively secure.

I got a MA in Literature just for this kind of career path.

In the bunker
I'm a land surveyor for a large engineering firm in the Des Moines metro area. We usually slow down quite a bit in the winter time, because construction comes to a near halt when the ground freezes up enough. In fact, I usually volunteer for a two or three week layoff in January. Not this year. As of right now, it looks like we are going to keep pretty busy throughout the winter and through the spring.

How long have you been with Red Bull? I remember meeting a whole clan of midwest reps at the SnoCross event in 2006(?) at Lambeau Field. They had a hospitality set up in suite 4009.

Ive been with them for 8 months. I deal more directly with actual product distribution. Those guys were probably field reps that basically hand out samples and shmooze athletes.

Are you into SnoCross?? I have a friend that races pro.
