I have one. Don't know anything about it other than websites show the serial number 314411 being manufactured in 1905.

Thinkings of selling it, but have no idea who to trust in regards to value. Have only had one guy look at it since I have had it, but he wanted to buy it, so I could not trust his price. How does one go about finding the true value of an old rifle?

Ten different 'experts' will give you ten different prices.

Post some pics and I'll see what I can come up with.

A consult with Fjestad's Blue Book of Gun Values might be worth your time.

I took some pics earlier, but they make it look like it has rust on it. It has no rust anywhere, just comes across bad in the photos. I will see what I can post.

I love how the gun in the gunbroker add has "brownish patina" I am going to start using that instead of "rusty" in my adds

This brownish patina supposedly is just from age, from what I read online. Yes, this one has that, but no metal eating rust anywhere. But then again, I know nothing about old guns. And not much about new ones either. Got a gun safe full of never-fired ones too!

Ok, went to a gun show for the first time yesterday. Had about 30 people ask how much I wanted for it, but only one guy provide what he thought it should bring. Lets just say he estimated it at 70-80%. One reason for that is that it had been drilled for a scope way back when. I did not know that cause there are surface flush screws in the holes where the mount was and they look factory.

Thousands of guns at the show and not one similar to mine. I wanted to see what similar guns were priced at but had no luck finding one.

I was amazed at how walking around with a gun case causes people to actually stop you and ask you what you are hiding inside. I got tired of opening the case so many times.

I carry my long guns out but keep pistols in cases with big labels that say what they are. Goose is probably one of those goofy looking guys who walks around with 4 holsters on at the gun show.

It was in a case cause it was raining like hell and I had a long walk. I wasn't selling anyways.

Anyone have a good way for me to sell it? Online auction?
