This ole boy was hit northeast of Columbus, Ohio on route 161. Sad way to go for the old fella.

d1driver said:Inherited gun from my grandfather after his passing. Too bad I cannot see past 100 yards where we will be hunting on Monday. My 12 gauge Ohio slug gun would work just fine, but I figure......why not!
d1driver said:Not sure where it compares to .357 or .44, but my new favorate want gun is a 45-70. Check one out! Much lower velocity, but pure knock down power.

ptschram said:Not legal in Indiana to hunt deer in a rifle AFAIK, but the 44 and 357 both are.
The 45-70 is legal for deer in a handgun though
Basically anything over .35" diameter and case length equal to .357 magnum. Apparently, there is a new law that requires some rifle cartridges to be cut down. .35 Remington (IIRC) has to be shortened if shot in a rifle.dcarr1971 said:PT, Out of curiosity, how does Indiana deal with Thompson Contenders in rifle calibers? I've seen some TC barrels for genuine rifle calibers capable of long ranges when fired from longer barrels. (Including .45-70, .30-30, and .223)

I hope your ass is extremely well balanced on that stand when you squeeze that 7mm
