RRC Rear Bumper/Tire Carrier

It seems the topic has drifted away from a rear tire carrier. Here's the back end of my '90 rrc. The bumper is an old ARB and the carriers are custom work. The job was done in California before I bought the truck. I can tell you it works really well.

Some more details:

The hinges have grease nipples and are heavy duty.
In the center there is a pin which both halves slid over and a hitch pin is put through to keep them from swinging open.
The license plate and reverse light are mounted to the swing away.

I can take some detailed photos for anyone who is interested.

Hmm... I'm not sure I like the dual swing style. Although I think it would be easier on the hinges with shorter pivot point, less leverage.

bloody 'ell how hard could it be. I may make one just to prove how wrong some one can make it. Like a mother and deformed child I'm sure I'll love it. All kidding aside...as long as the stress points and clearance issues are addressed........wot's the big deal. swing swing

I've posted pics of it before, but here is my take on the rear bumper. It has survived many hard hits at Tellico as Denny and Drippy have seen, yet still looks stock. The end caps are made from 7/16ths steel and would support whatever tire carrier you wanted to put on it.
