I agree that $80k would be a bust. $60K is doable, $65K and even closer to $70k with some options. The Trailmaster edition (which I have reserved) is starting at £69,000 in the UK which converts to $85,468 today. No way this thing is worth that much.
I think the durability will be good but of course no one can know for sure. The BMW engine is detuned to about 280 HP, the ZF transmission is severely undertaxed, the drivetrain is over-built, the components are all pretty standard fare, etc. This all bodes well for the longevity of the vehicle but these things could also be plagued with software bugs the first year out. Who knows....
