I am sure you will be missed and I understand why you wouldn't want to go somewhere were the trails are not graded smooth fruitcake.

And there were Jeeps at the Cove too........oh yea you weren't invited there either

Randy,
On our way home yesterday we encountered a red dodge identical to yours towing a green d1 on a trailer on I-70. He was pulled off to the side, so we pulled over to help thinking it was you. You have a look-alike out there.

That is funny Erik I was again this year the last one to leave the site an took 29-15 home so way behind you Guys and way east. Wonder was he at MAR?

Get up those Pics of the Rovertym Challenge. That was cool to get winched into an obstacle. I will second the local knowledge and help offered by the Guides I don't believe even now that I could get in and out of there with certainty. Actually one of our Guides, Ben, had an offer on a 90 a while back.

It was interesting some of the stories and the places he took us that were not generally used like that Rockwell Hill place were some built Jeep with Rockwells tore it up so no one wanted to use it because they couldn't climb it and 3 or 4 of us made it up with little to no issues. And the one were 3 or 4 of the Jeeps that tried it flopped and 2 or 3 of us went up again without issues

I had a great time, missed a few of our usuals, but the event was great. As someone said there is room for improvment but a great first try at a new venue.

Trevor, I have a ton from that day. I will post up when I get home, too tired last night. BTW the obstacles on the Rovertym Challenge were... a bit tougher.:D Thanks to Larry and Jordan at RTE for sponsoring the rides. They also donated some gas tank skids and mucho lift stuff.

I enjoyed myself as did my passengers although I wish it would have rained so we would have had some mud. I did prefer the open format at Pearl's Pond strictly because it meant I could be wheeling the entire time, but all in all it was a great event. Thanks to everyone who put in the hard work to set it up and thanks to the trail guides.

My pics can be found here: http://picasaweb.google.com/seanpaul.ferrera

I'm looking for a good place to host the full videos as youtube compresses too much.

Agreed. I had a good time.Thursday night was chilly-woke up Friday to ice on my Hardigg cases. The golf carts were not a big hit- the company was a sponsor so ROAV made it known they were available. Not many people rented them. Since all the trails are "gated" the jeep guys opened/unlocked and closed them. When you are in a line of 15-18 trucks you have no sense of a jeep being out front or bringing up the rear. That was a non-issue for most. My friend Chalres Galpin had done the trails @ the Cove two weekends before and said the venues are similar but that the Cove has more hardcore stuff for the highly, highly ,modified truck- something like Justin's.
The showers were a definate hit.

Good to finally meet you Galen.

Rugbier- had no idea that was you next to me in the D2 running up 29.
Did notice all the pin-stripes on your black paint.

Doug,

My fault, I should have waved you down and properly introduce myself, next time . I tried to do it on trail 5 ( I was the one who told you YOU MUST BE DOUG, but then we were rushed a tadd because of the dinner affair and people lining up on the rocks .

Yes those pin-stripes were just on the dust ( I had a deep coat of wax, so they look worse than what they really are ) so nothing will be there.;)

I've never met Charles, but he's feeding you a bit of shit here. Either that, or you're relaying the information with a bit of shit interlaced.

Here is a color coded map of the Cove. The Red lines are the "hard trails" that would offer people like "Justin" a challange. We took Allen Skillman down many of the Black trails with his D2 that only has a 3" lift and tires. I think Allen had a blast.

The D2 that actually broke was on a Blue trail. The Jeep that broke was on a Red trail.

I kept hearing that the trails at the Cove were too "hard core" for a Rover group. Now I'm hearing it after the trip from people who were not even there. Out of 30+ trucks at the Cove, two went home with body damage; the truck that rolled and Allen. Allen got his damage on a Red trail during a night run.

Bottom line is, the Cove trails are not "too hard core". If you stay on a trail that's within reason for your truck, you'll have a great time. Just don't put a stock D2 on a black or red trail............

The cove had some amazing trails perfect for series trucks. Mike Noe Said it perfectly that it was like a trials course. There was something for everyone plenty of room.

That map is deceiving. The white areas had ATV trails crisscrossing everywhere and on some trails there were wood nymphs. Amazing!! We even stumbled on a rave party and a country music party all happening together.

I wish there were pics of that Rave Party. It was just weird that being in the middle of the woods. Lasers all over the place and some thumping music.

Hell even Rob D. was doing the reverse cross over dance in super slow mo. That shit was ballin'.
