Yeah, you're right, I was not there long enough to run all the trails.
Fucking Christ. The place sucked. Admit it. I was on the trails a total of about 2 hours and I saw all that had to offer.
I drove my truck up that big ass hill at 40PSI in my tires.
On the other side of the property where the other, more muddy, hill was, I did get stuck. My trailer hitch was still on the receiver and it caught me. I winched off and then preceded to drive up the hill.
I was told these were the hardest trails on the property.
I was also told that ROAV failed to mention the off-site trails were guided only, and that the off-site trails were not worth the time. They were saying Saturday that many of the folks were not even going to that property because it was not worth it.
Guided trails? Really?
In all honesty, though, the place was lame. It really was. Not only was it lame, there just was not much going on. One parts vendor displayed, no food stand that I saw, and no dunking booth. Top that off, I was told I was too big for the pony rides.
But really, even the camp areas were lame. I remember when MAR camp sites were fun. People dressed them up a little bit. Flag, banners, disco balls, music, food.....people got into not only the Rover event, but they really got into the themed camp areas, too. They planned this shit out fro months. It's kind of dumb and goofy, but it at least makes it fun. It's like tailgating at the game.
But the camp areas were gay this year. No excitement. People were not in to it. It was kind of lame.
That kind of tells me people are just over it. Even if MAR did have 150 trucks (which I don't think it did), that's still down from the previous year. Worse than that is the fun guys have left. Sure, there are a few still hanging in there, but MAR is not what it once was. The face has changed. It will be years before the East coast ever has their version of the National again.
